My Views

My Views

by Mrs. Clara Pilchak
Capac, Mi

Aug 1999

In an editorial by the Lapeer County Press, in Michigan, the leading statement read "We are an odd people. We do not let the facts get in the way of emotions.... Almost as soon as the echo of that gunfire faded, crusaders came out of the woodwork to call for gun control."

When people are forced to hear and see unbelievable horror that is close to home, we naturally react with our heart and emotions instead of our rational thinking process. All common sense disappears and ideas that would not have ever been considered prior to this dreadful situation may seem to be the answer.

This school had classes in Suicide Education and Death Education! Was it an experimental project on our children that created this part of our history-- removing prayer and replacing it with a questionable mind control curriculum?

People kill people! Guns do not kill people! Place any type or size gun on a table and roll videotape. I can guarantee for a fact that no matter how long you tape it, the gun will not move.

To my way of thinking there is no other area that would have been able to move a nation more than the sight of the incident in Littleton, Colorado. Children killed, emotionally and mentally scarred forever with the memories of such a gruesome attack on their friends and classmates.

We have to remain calm and consider the meaning of the Second Amendment. "A well-regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed." Having guns to protect us and our loved ones and property means America remains a FREE COUNTRY! Guns are not only for hunting.

Women, especially, should not remain passive before the visual assault on our senses. Nothing and I mean nothing should be allowed to make us vulnerable to enemies both foreign and domestic. The Hollywood lefties have been very vocal and the Liberal Media are distorting and twisting the truth to get our country to remove guns from law-abiding citizens and make us all prey.

Rosie O'Donell does not speak for me nor for women with brains that function. We outnumber the liberal (uniformed) women who have "no light on what-so-ever" and do nothing but parrot the boob tube. We must counteract YESTERDAY with the excellent publication "Gun Control Kills Kids" by Rabbi Zellman, published by the Jews for the Preservation of Firearms Ownership. It is in a comic book format and must be placed in beauty parlors, video stores, family owned restaurants and grocery stores. It is our best weapon-- loaded with FACTS-- to expose the totally unsupported hype we are being hit with.

Mrs. Pilchak is a former candidate for State Senator and Representative in Michigan. Elinor Burkett features her in "The Right Women, A Journey through the Heart of Conservative America" now in paperback.

 QUOTES TO REMEMBER
Arms discourage and keep the invader and plunderer in awe, and preserve order in the world as well as property . . . Horrid mischief would ensue were the law-abiding deprived of the use of them. — Thomas Paine, Thoughts on Defensive War (1775).
