Just to legally own a firearm in Canada, citizens must first pass government-approved firearms training. They can then apply in writing for a federal gun license, which has its own hazards. The application process requires citizens to list every “conjugal relationship” they have had in the past two years. Of course, any previous sexual partner can stop the entire firearm application cold. And then there’s a massive and invasive background check.

After the Supreme Court's 2022 ruling in New York State Rifle & Pistol Association v. Bruen, several states had to repeal laws requiring that residents demonstrate a "special need" before they were allowed to carry guns in public for self-defense.

Springfield Armory added a new .300 Blackout model to its Saint Victor AR pistol lineup for SHOT Show 2026. While Springfield updated the Saint Victor family with several new models last year, the Saints were previously chambered only in 5.56, .308/7.62, and 9mm.
