The soft point boat tail (SP-BT) is a relatively popular, “no-frills” style bullet primarily used in rifle ammunition for long-range shooting. Many F-Class competitive shooters still use this style of bullet, as it is a proven performer. With the variety of match-grade ammo on the market, there is likely a load that will perform admirably in your rifle.

Known for its low-cost ammo formerly manufactured in Russia, Wolf's best-selling calibers are steel-cased 7.62x39mm and .223 Remington. Wolf is an importer of ammunition that is manufacturer agnostic, as well as brass and steel agnostic. When you see “Wolf Gold,” all that means is that these are brass cartridges.

The following is an excerpt from Larry Correia’s “In Defense of the Second Amendment.” It can be purchased here. It doesn’t really make sense to ban guns, because in reality what that means is that you are actually trying to ban effective self-defense. Despite the constant hammering by a news media with an agenda, guns are used in America far more often to stop crime than to cause crime.

Rock River Arms launched an entirely new lineup of AR-15 rifles in 2023, and the new Ascendant series is intended to provide shooters and hunters with a number of upgraded options straight from the box. On each model in the RRA Ascendant series, consumers will find all the upgrades usually done by end users on base-model guns, but all of these upgrades come standard on RRA's factory guns, saving users the hassle of having to determine which components work best for them.

I can already hear the pearl-clutching and collective gasps of anti-gunners at the idea of the JR-15, but the reality of the design is far from what any headline would ever claim. As much as it might shock and offend hoplophobes, children need to be taught both how to safety handle and use firearms at a young age to truly protect them from tragic accidents.

When it comes to his profession and his country, Dacula native Will Hinton’s aim is true.

Hinton, 26, has a unique position in military hierarchy as a member of the elite Army Marksmanship Unit, which numbers about 15 soldiers. And with his sharp shooting, Hinton has the opportunity this summer to earn a spot on the U.S. Olympic team.

“Basically, (I belong to) a unit of soldiers whose job is to win national and international shooting competitions and instruct other soldiers,” said Hinton during a recent telephone conversation from Fort Benning near Columbus, where he’s been stationed since joining the Army in 2016. “ I do a lot of traveling, about 30 weeks a year, if not more. I’ve been to seven countries (2022) alone.”

Appellants Darin and Jennifer Miller are both licensed foster home caretakers, and Jennifer Miller is licensed to operate a home day care. Illinois statutes and regulations restrict how the Millers may possess and store firearms and ammunition in their home. The Millers challenge the constitutionality of those statutes and regulations. Who among us hasn’t struggled while changing the grip on an AR platform rifle? No, it isn’t difficult — or shouldn’t be — because all it takes is the turn of a screw. But that screw is shrouded by three-plus inches of polymer that can make getting at that screw a challenge.

I’ve been a lifelong fan of Henry Rifles ever since I shot the Goldenboy – but the Homesteader 9mm is something totally different. While every other rifle made by Henry is either lever-action or break-action, the new 9mm Homestead is a semi-automatic, magazine-fed pistol caliber carbine. But it’s more than just that, and after spending some time with it at SHOT Show 2023, I have some great news to share.

President Biden's tenure in the White House has been marked with a consistent tone surrounding the Second Amendment and firearms, but on several occasions, the president has shown that he may not know the real issue at hand as he repeatedly pushes for a ban on "assault weapons." Biden's latest remarks taking aim at strong supporters of the Second Amendment and certain firearms came last week during a speech at the National Action Network's annual Martin Luther King Jr. breakfast in Washington, where he appeared to mock his conservative colleagues.

Nobody knows the future in its details, but hunters and trappers at least have a clue about things to come. Ohio Division of Wildlife proposals made public on Jan. 11 call for no significant changes in dates, season lengths or take limits for the 2023-24 hunting and trapping seasons. The eight-member Ohio Wildlife Council, a citizens’ panel tasked with approving or disapproving hunting, trapping and fishing regulations, will render its verdict by mid-April.

In a setback for anti-gun municipal governments in Florida, the state Supreme Court ruled Thursday that statutory penalties for violations of the state preemption law will stand.

“The Legislature’s express intent in enacting the Preemption Statute was to maintain uniform firearms laws throughout Florida; to nullify and void all ordinances and regulations not enacted at the state or federal level; ‘to prohibit the enactment of any future ordinances or regulations relating to firearms, ammunition, or components thereof unless specifically authorized by this section or general law’; and ‘to require local jurisdictions to enforce state firearms law’,” wrote Justice Ricky Polston for the majority.

In a short statement from Picatinny Arsenal in New Jersey last week, the name of the SIG Sauer-produced Next Generation Squad Weapon rifle will be different going forward. The NGSW-R, a 6.8x51 caliber rifle meant to replace the M4 Carbine in front-line Army units in coming years, was announced last Spring as having the XM-5 designation pending full operational capability at which point it would likely drop the "X" and become simply the M5 rifle. Well, the Army has switched gears on that plan, instead moving to reclassify it as the XM-7 rifle, to prevent it from being confused with the Colt M5.
