A new report at Fox News reviewing Joe Biden’s string of gun-related gaffes demonstrates the president may be a putz when it comes to firearms—especially ballistics—and he’s been doing it for a long time.

A Monday story headlined “A look at some of Biden’s most inaccurate remarks about firearms and 2A supporters” provides an embarrassing narrative about a career politician’s repeated canards relating to firearms and the Second Amendment, starting with a misquote of Thomas Jefferson’s famous observation about the tree of liberty and going all the way to his demonstrably false assertion that a bullet fired from an AR-15 “travels five times as rapidly as a bullet shot out of any other gun.”

Washington State Attorney General Bob Ferguson has joined 15 of his anti-Second Amendment Democrat colleagues in an amicus brief to the U.S. Second Circuit Court of Appeals, asking for a reversal of a district court’s decision to block enforcement of New York’s so-called Concealed Carry Improvement Act.

Ferguson joined attorneys general from the District of Columbia, Illinois, California, Connecticut, Delaware, Hawaii, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, New Jersey, Oregon, Rhode Island, Vermont and the Northern Mariana Islands.

Both the Michigan Legislature and the state’s entire Executive Branch are now controlled by opponents of armed self-defense rights. It’s likely we will see attempts to pass gun control legislation soon. The Michigan Legislature is expected to begin taking up policy items in committees by late February and early March.

At least 30 people have been shot, seven fatally, in weekend shootings across Chicago, police said. Two teens were shot, one fatally, Sunday afternoon while trying to buy a pair of shoes from a social media seller in West Pullman on the Far South Side. The teens, 17 and 18, were in a parked car about 2:05 p.m. in the 11900-block of South State Street when they met with the seller, Chicago police said.

Every member of the NRA has decided to give time and money to defend and win back our Second Amendment-protected freedoms. This basic fact makes Larry and Brenda Potterfield, co-founders of MidwayUSA, part of a civil-rights movement; in fact, as they give so much, it makes them leading examples of citizens who give to preserve and restore this critical right.

Republican Bill Wrongfully Empowers 'Broken' FBI Background Check System, Gun Groups Charge

A new bill pushed by House Republicans that seeks to stop illegal immigrants from gaining access to firearms would only wrongfully empower a "broken" FBI background check system that targets the Second Amendment rights of U.S. citizens, according to pro-gun groups. The Illegal Alien NICS Alert Act would require the FBI's National Instant Criminal Background Check System to inform Immigration and Customs Enforcement and other agencies if it appears a noncitizen is trying to obtain a firearm.

A state lawmaker from St. Louis is citing last fall’s fatal shooting at Central Visual Performing Arts High School as the reason behind a so-called “red flag” bill he’s sponsoring in the Missouri House. Democrat Peter Merideth says it would allow law enforcement to file a risk protection order, or RPO, against someone in possession of a firearm that’s deemed to pose a significant threat to others – and as a result seize any and all firearms from that person.

The Consumer Product Safety Commission, the federal agency dedicated to saving the world from lawn darts and toy magnets, has been in the headlines recently. This time the busybodies at the CPSC are out to protect Americans from well-prepared meals, by banning the ubiquitous gas stove. On January 9, Bloomberg News reported that the CPSC “says a ban on gas stoves is on the table amid rising concern about harmful indoor air pollutants emitted by the appliances.” Speaking with the outlet, CPSC Commissioner Richard Trumka Jr. stated, “Any option is on the table. Products that can’t be made safe can be banned.”

President Joe Biden has worked in tandem with gun control advocacy organizations seeking to disarm law-abiding American citizens and demonize American firearm manufacturers. While this connection between the Biden administration and gun confiscation supporters is well known, the Department of Justice (DOJ) has threatened to undermine that relationship by daring to recognize the indisputable truth that criminals are responsible for the crimes they commit. At the same time, President Biden’s Justice Department is conveniently ignoring initiatives led by the firearms and ammunition industry that are proven to prevent gun crime and keep communities safer.

With political momentum from his re-election victory, Gov. Ned Lamont proposed a major package of gun control legislation Monday that includes banning the open carry of guns in public places and eliminating bulk purchasing of handguns. Although Connecticut has some of the toughest gun laws in the country and is among the safest states, Lamont and supporters said it is not enough.

The state’s new concealed weapon law took effect on New Year’s Day. It allows gun owners to carry a concealed weapon without a permit. The Alabama Sheriff’s Association opposed the idea. The group says the measure could allow people to have a gun without registering it. The Giffords Law Center says Texas passed a similar law and there was an increase of people being arrested for illegally possessing a gun. Allison Anderman is a senior counsel at the Center. She says what Texas is going through should send a message to Alabama.

President Joe Biden commemorated the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday last week by renewing his promise to ban so-called “assault weapons.” By now, President Biden’s arguments in favor of gun control appear to be the product of a well-worn mental groove, and his remarks at the January 16 Annual MLK Day Breakfast held by Rev. Al Sharpton’s National Action Network were no exception.

Although I think “Don’t read the comments” is good general life advice, we usually just can’t help ourselves. Social media in particular seems full of nothing but arguments these days, and few things get the keyboard warriors fired up more than a hunting photo—especially if the hunter is a woman. Before you know it, the comment section is filled with outrage, misinformation, slurs and death threats. You made one little comment correcting someone’s obvious lie about hunting and suddenly you’re embroiled in an argument. Now what?
