There’s never been a better time in American history to be a gun nerd. It would have been undeniably cool to stroll out of a hardware store in 1933 with a Thompson submachine gun, cash and carry. However, in 1933 we were four years into the Great Depression, Adolph Hitler was just getting tooled up over on his side of the pond and McDonald’s was just some old guy’s farm. Dropping by McDonald’s for a hamburger would have therefore been both messy and time-consuming. It’s way better today.

Since the 2007 Virginia Tech shooting of unarmed students and faculty, there has been a steady shift in favor of self-defense rights on college campuses, with “campus carry” being legalized in roughly a dozen states. The Center for American Progress, an anti-gun thinktank opposed to self-defense on campus, now says it has a new way to stop the spread of freedom: send in the feds.

The Supreme Court is expected to soon hear New York State Rifle & Pistol Association (NYSRPA) v. Bruen, challenging a New York law that allows judges and police commissioners to deny licenses, to carry handguns for self-defense away from home, to applicants they deem do not have “proper cause.”

On 15 May, 2015, a class-action lawsuit was filed against the government of the District of Columbia, for violating the constitutional rights of people who had been arrested before the Wrenn case was decided on July 25, 2021. The mainstream media lies to us. They feed us propaganda. They don’t want us to know that gun ownership is widespread and that armed defense is common. I was at a conference for minor-media this weekend. There, an associate talked about being turned away from most of his local news stations because “we don’t run pro-gun stories. No self-defense.” Let me show you where the propaganda starts at the top.

Earlier this year, I was looking to get my first handgun as a new resident of the United States. I recently moved from Canada, and I wanted an all-around, dependable, and capable handgun. I asked a number of gun friends for advice, and they suggested a few different options. But one friend in particular, Mark Muller, whom I trust and admire, said the following; “Dude, just get a Glock 19. You can’t go wrong. It’s affordable. It goes bang every time you pull the trigger. You can trick it out or keep it stock. It’s just a great gun. It’s probably the only handgun you ever need.”

The .4” buckshot size doesn’t get as much use by shooters as it probably should. A very nice home-defense round, .4" buck is also a lot of fun to shoot on the range. Pumping a few rounds into various-sized targets is very satisfying with this ammo type because the power and penetration is just staggering.

The Brady gun prohibition lobbying organization has launched a “digital ad campaign pushing for filibuster reform in the Senate, arguing the procedural tool has cost lives by blocking meaningful legislation to overhaul firearm laws,” according to The Hill.

The campaign is dubbed “Filibuster Is Killing Us,” and its goal is to end the 60-vote requirement to pass certain legislation, including gun control measures supported by the gun prohibition lobby and anti-gun Democrats on Capitol Hill.

The expanding full metal jacket, or EFMJ, bullet is pretty unique. It was designed to offer shooters of all types an alternative to hollow points, with a nice blend of stopping power combined with little to no over-penetration. This makes the EFMJ the perfect choice for concealed carry and home defense ammo, because the odds of causing unwanted collateral damage to property or harming people on accident are lower than when using a standard bullet.

It was explained that being a Second Amendment sanctuary county pertains to the Board wanting to ensure that the rights of citizens in Dallas County are protected and that Dallas County opposes the enactment of any legislation or issuance of an executive order that would infringe on the constitutional right to bear arms.

Hawaii Police Department Chief Paul Ferreira said law enforcers are “gearing up” for Jan. 1, 2022, when most private citizens 21 or older will be allowed to possess and carry a Taser or electric stun gun. “We’re discussing how it’s going to be handled with all the departments across the state, as well as the (attorney general), so we’re uniform in our policies across the state — similar to what we do with firearms registrations,” Ferreira said Tuesday.

The men whose names are common amongst firearm enthusiasts often made their marks in other fields of endeavor far outside the world of guns. Samuel Colt invented a marine torpedo, as did Arthur Savage, who also invented radial tires. L.C. Smith not only gave his name to a fine line of shotguns, but also revolutionized the typewriter industry. Sir Hiram Stevens Maxim is well-known as the father of the machine gun, but he also can lay claim to an electric light bulb and numerous other non-ballistic inventions. His son, not as well known, was also a gifted inventor, whose inventions have been responsible for otolaryngologists (ENTs) not being overwhelmed with clients.

A bill introduced in the U.S. Senate would make new FFLs submit a security plan to the feds as part of their application while current gun shops would face tough new guidelines as well. The measure, the "SECURE Firearm Storage Act" was introduced last week by U.S. Sen. Dick Durbin, an Illinois Democrat who has long championed gun control proposals of all stripes in his 38 years in Congress.
