One person was shot dead and the shooter, his neighbor, was hospitalized after a Greeley home break in overnight Tuesday.

Officials first responded to a residence in the 4200 block of Grand Teton Road just before 1:30 a.m. Wednesday, according to a post from the Weld County Sheriff’s Office on social media.

Upon arrival, deputies found the reporting party, the victim of the break in, who said he had been in “a long-standing feud” with his neighbor, according to the post. During the incident, the man told police, the neighbor had kicked his door in and come into the home with an object in his hand.

Eli Turner didn’t intend to be an anachronism. He just liked his tools made from steel and soul, things considered time-worn traditions and things that looked good tucked inside sweat-stained leather. That’s why the gun on his belt was a Colt Single Action Army, .45 Colt, four-and-three-quarter-inch barrel, black factory grips and the faint silver holster gloss that only comes from years of quiet devotion.

People noticed. A few of them admired him, but most scoffed behind his back.

While the first two shots fired by a so-called “peacekeeper” during the No Kings protest in Salt Lake City in June may have fallen under Utah’s self-defense justification statute, the third shot — the one that killed an innocent bystander — did not, according to Sim Gill.

“We believe the third shot was the reckless shot. And while you may have a right to use lethal force, that doesn’t mean that lethal force can be used in a reckless manner,” the Salt Lake County district attorney said Wednesday.

During an extended press conference on Wednesday, Gill explained how his office reached the decision to file a charge of manslaughter, a second-degree felony, against Matthew Scott Alder, 43, ...

A company that sells self-defense weapons brought a lawsuit on Wednesday against Democratic Gov. Gavin Newsom, alleging that California, a state heavy on gun restrictions, was violating the Second Amendment because it also hindered people from buying less-lethal self-defense products.

Bryna Technologies CEO Bryan Ganz told Fox News Digital his company's weapons, which look like revolvers but shoot powerful chemical irritants rather than lethal bullets, were legal in all 50 states. But California, Ganz said, blocked sales of Byrna's ammunition and launchers.

Op-Ed: What’s The Use Of Having A 2nd Amendment If I’m Not Allowed To Drive Around The Neighborhood Gunning Down Christmas Inflatables?

What good is an amendment saying we have the right to bear arms if I can't go house to house firing buckshot into every inflatable Christmas minion I see?

Look, I don't have to spend my evenings driving around the neighborhood in my 2003 Silverado, shooting high-powered ammunition into inflatable Grinches. I do it as a service to my community. I'm just an everyday, red-blooded American, trying to do his part to rid the world of these abominations. Putting up inflatables to decorate for Christmas is like celebrating your anniversary by kissing your sister.

Turning Point USA CEO Erika Kirk insisted that the assassination of her husband, Charlie Kirk, was "not a gun problem" as she reaffirmed her support of the Second Amendment during the New York Times' Dealbook Conference on Wednesday (December 3).

The widow, who took over the role previously held by her husband, Turning Point USA's co-founder, after his death in September, instead shifted blame to mental health and divisive politics.

“What I’ve realized through all of this is that you can have individuals that will always resort to violence. And what I’m afraid of is that we are living in a day and age where they think violence is the solution to them not wanting to hear a different point of view,” she said.

Women for Gun Rights applauds the U.S. Department of Justice’s creation of a new Second Amendment Rights Section within the Civil Rights Division, marking a historic step to protect the constitutional rights of law-abiding gun owners and elevate the importance of firearms freedom at the federal level.

This is the first time the federal government has established a dedicated unit focused on protecting, not restricting, the Second Amendment. For millions of women across America – mothers, professionals, survivors, and first-time gun owners – this represents a welcome shift.

The Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals hit the reset button on California's ammunition background check case on December 1, vacating a July ruling that struck down the state's restrictive ammunition laws and ordering the case reheard by an 11-judge en banc panel.

For California gun owners who've been dealing with these restrictions since 2019, this means the background check requirement for every ammunition purchase isn't going anywhere soon. The law stays in effect while the full panel reconsiders the case, with oral arguments scheduled for March 2026.

A Lagos-based cleric, Adebola Odubela, has cautioned Nigerians against embracing calls for citizens to bear arms amid rising insecurity in the country.

Speaking at a press conference heralding the 20th Annual Peniel Revivals Open-Air Crusade held in Lagos on Monday, Odubela warned that such a move could worsen the country’s challenges.

Reacting to a viral video in which a cleric urged Nigerians to arm themselves in response to bandit attacks, Odubela, who is the Lagos District Sacred Cherubim and Seraphim Council Chairman, said the idea was dangerous and could lead to misuse of weapons.

The Department of Justice (DOJ) has set today (Dec. 4) as a deadline to open a new office within its Civil Rights Division called the Second Amendment Rights Section. Not surprisingly, the notion that the constitutional right to bear arms is a civil right – and should be treated as such – has rendered the left apoplectic. Established by an executive order issued by President Donald Trump, the office is to “assess any ongoing infringements” of gun rights and “present a proposed plan of action,” according to the presidential document, to expand gun rights protections by scrutinizing local laws that effectively limit a citizen’s right to bear arms.

A judge last month once again upheld Washington’s 2023 law banning the sale of certain semiautomatic firearms classified as assault weapons.

But the dispute is likely not over. The gun rights advocacy group suing to overturn the ban says it will appeal. And whether restrictions like Washington’s are constitutional may eventually be decided by the U.S. Supreme Court.

Washington’s law doesn’t prohibit owning assault weapons, just their manufacture, importation, distribution or sale. The term “assault weapon” is defined in the law, including with a list of specific firearm models, such as AR-15s.

North Carolina’s private universities are the latest in a growing number across the country whose states allow higher education professors or K-12 teachers to carry a concealed firearm. House Bill 193 allows private colleges and universities in the state to approve an employee to carry a concealed firearm on campus or at a university religious site.

The employee must first complete an eight-hour firearms training course and keep a valid concealed-carry license. The college employee can only carry a gun or stun gun on their campus, not on another university’s property.

A new Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives report is shedding light on where criminals in New Mexico are acquiring guns. It reveals that 78% of all gun crimes in the state are committed with firearms that were legally purchased from licensed dealers. From there, most of these guns are sold to individuals who are prohibited from buying firearms legally.

State legislators, along with gun violence prevention organization “Everytown,” hosted a virtual briefing on the latest data. Two lawmakers argued that it is time to change how often a single person can purchase guns and to implement new regulations for sellers to hold them more accountable.
