Turning Point USA CEO Erika Kirk said during a New York Times conference that she still supports the Second Amendment and her husband’s death was not the result of a gun problem.
“What I’ve realized through all of this is that you can have individuals that will always resort to violence,” Kirk said on Wednesday.
“And what I’m afraid of is that we are living in a day and age where they think violence is the solution to them not wanting to hear a different point of view.”
Erika’s husband Charlie Kirk was assassinated in September while doing a speaking event at Utah Valley University. |

Here’s a thought exercise. Please indulge this idea: if slavery had never taken root in the U.S., would there have been a need for a 2nd Amendment to this nation’s constitution?
Take into consideration Roger Williams University’s Distinguished Research Professor of Law, Carl T. Bogus, whose thought-throttling paper was published in the University of California Davis Law Review. Titled, “The Hidden History of the 2nd Amendment” (2019), the article documents and explores ongoing conversations among a number of contributors to the Constitution (1789), which later led to the framing of the Bill of Rights back in 1791. |

Gun rights groups aren’t fully sold on the Trump Department of Justice’s (DOJ) decision to launch a new Second Amendment Rights division.
Advocates frustrated by the DOJ’s recent litigation positions are reserving judgement, hoping its creation is more than a public relations stunt.
“The Justice Department’s stance on the Second Amendment is not much better today than it was over the past four years,” Gun Owners of America (GOA) Senior Vice President Erich Pratt told the Daily Caller News Foundation. “This DOJ has met us with opposition in almost every legal battle we have had.” |

Maybe it began with Ralphie’s “Red Ryder BB Gun with the compass in the stock and that thing which tells time” in A Christmas Story, but just about every young hunter received their first firearm wrapped in Christmas paper. That Daisy is still a fine piece of wood and steel, but what about that recreational shooter or hunter who’s a bit more seasoned? The Arkansas Game and Fish Foundation’s “12 Guns of Christmas” promotion is the perfect chance to get them a fantastic holiday gift and do it while contributing to conservation.
Beginning Dec. 8, the AGFF will draw for one of 12 firearms ranging from a Winchester semi-automatic duck gun to a Savage straight-walled rifle... |

The market for AR-10 rifles is vast, offering everything from expensive “battle-ready” rifles and competition platforms to budget-level hobby guns. We decided to cut through some of the noise to see exactly what spending more money will and will not get you when it comes to accuracy performance.
In theory, a refined Gucci-level rifle should result in better performance on the range, right? Well, we put that to the test by pitting a $4,000+ AR-10 against an affordable AR-10 that costs under $1,000.
Here’s how it turned out. |

Veteran-founded Watchtower Defense is back in operation and taking orders for its new Apache Commander double-stack 9mm 1911s.
Formerly Watchtower Firearms, which declared Chapter 11 bankruptcy in early 2025, the company was recently purchased out of bankruptcy and relaunched as Watchtower Defense.
These precision-machined 1911s – more 2011s with the double-stack magazines – can be had in black or flat dark earth and come loaded with enhanced parts. These include a flared double-stack magwell, user-adjustable trigger duty-tuned to 4.5-5.5 pounds, and ambidextrous safety controls. That’s on top of the stainless-steel slide, frame, and barrel. |

Ruger is one of my favorite gun companies, and the reason for that is that they do unexpected things, like their new LCP MAX ReadyDot. Built on the already-popular LCP MAX platform, the LCP MAX ReadyDot is an ultra-compact .380 that adds something you don’t usually see on a true pocket gun: a battery-free fiber-optic red dot.
The ReadyDot uses a large 15 MOA aiming dot, bright enough to pick up instantly — even for aging eyes — and it co-witnesses with the front tritium sight for fast, intuitive alignment. |

A deadly confrontation early Monday morning at the Summerset Apartments shows just how fast a normal, everyday moment can turn into a life-or-death struggle — even when a lawful gun owner does everything right.
Police say 58-year-old Ricardo Rodriguez, a Melbourne resident, was simply heading outside around 6 a.m. to start his car before the workday when he was confronted by 39-year-old transient Dylan Marlow, who was yelling and “yelling about finding his girlfriend,” according to WESH’s reporting. |

On July 4, 2025, Americans celebrated not only our nation’s independence, but also the restoration of our constitutional Second Amendment rights becoming unconstrained by burdensome and arbitrary fees. That day, President Donald Trump (R) signed into law the largest tax-relief legislation in American history. Included in the legislation was a historic win for liberty and for lawful gun owners across the country. For the first time in nearly a century, we struck down one of the most unfair and outdated taxes ever imposed on law-abiding Americans; in fact, this victory marks the first time a federal firearm tax has been eliminated since 1928. |

If Elon Musk gets his way, Tesla’s Optimus robots and full-self-driving cars aren’t just sci-fi—they’re the next multi-trillion-dollar industry.
Musk is openly talking about humanoid robots doing factory work, replacing human labor, and rolling out in the thousands in the next few years. (The Times of India)
Put that together with weaponized drones, autonomous systems, and AI everywhere, and you can see where this goes: at some point, the threat to you and your family may not be a human attacker at all, but a machine—whether it’s criminal misuse of robots, hostile code, or a rogue state’s toys. |

The deadly shooting of Afa Ah Loo at Salt Lake's "No Kings" protest in June prompted a friend and state lawmaker to "open a bill file" to restrict long guns at Utah rallies and protests.
"This isn't about taking anybody's gun rights away," said Rep. Verona Mauga, D-Salt Lake City. "It's about being responsible gun owners."
Her proposal would ban people from openly carrying long guns within "so many feet" of those public events in response to developments that led to the shooting on State Street in June. |

Supervisor Janice Hahn will hold exchange guns for gift cards at a buyback event from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 6, at the South Whittier Community Resource Center in unincorporated South Whittier, 10750 Laurel Ave. in unincorporated South Whittier.
In collaboration with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Norwalk Station, the event is one way to reduce violent crime, as guns can be stolen from a home and be used in a crime, law enforcement officials said. All turn-ins are anonymous, no questions asked.
“Over and over again, the success of these buyback events has proven that our communities want a chance to play a role in making their own homes and streets safer. |

A judge last month once again upheld Washington’s 2023 law banning the sale of certain semiautomatic firearms classified as assault weapons.
But the dispute is likely not over. The gun rights advocacy group suing to overturn the ban says it will appeal. And whether restrictions like Washington’s are constitutional may eventually be decided by the U.S. Supreme Court.
Washington’s law doesn’t prohibit owning assault weapons, just their manufacture, importation, distribution or sale. The term “assault weapon” is defined in the law, including with a list of specific firearm models, such as AR-15s. |

The SCSO said two armed drivers became involved in an altercation, during which one of them fired into the other driver’s vehicle, causing a crash.
The injured driver died at the scene. He was identified as 51-year-old Manuel Alejandro Rosado of Longwood, according to deputies.
Detectives indicated that the driver who died aimed his gun at the shooter first, causing the shooter to draw his weapon and fire multiple rounds in response.
SCSO said the shooter immediately called 911 and remained on scene until deputies arrived. He was later detained for questioning.
After questioning, the shooter was released under provisions of Florida's Stand Your Ground law. |
