A bill that would ban the sale of certain high-powered firearms in Colorado now gives exceptions to gun purchasers who go through training under a Senate amendment approved Friday. Senate Bill 3 would prohibit the sale, purchase and manufacture of semiautomatic firearms that accept detachable ammunition magazines including AR-15 and AK-47 rifles as well as AR and AK-style pistols.

The Daytona Beach Police Department (DBPD) is currently working to get "Zero Eyes," a new AI technology, installed into the county's existing surveillance cameras. This detects and sends out an alert if a firearm is brandished. City Commissioner Ken Strickland says it could be game-changing.
