Democrats continue to pass laws infringing the uninfringeable right to “keep and bear arms.” Count on that, as it happens over and over. Where does it end? From Maine to California, Democrat legislators and governors trample the rights of law-abiding gun owners. Thank God, for good judges.
Beyond the saving grace of sane, reasoned, reasoning, historically faithful Supreme Court justices, the federal bench is divided – in favor of Democrat appointees. While we hope political views are replaced by reading plain text and history after a lifetime appointment, that is not always true. |

Legislation filed in the Senate on Tuesday seeks to expand firearm carry rights on college and university campuses, allowing individuals to carry weapons in dormitories, residence halls, and other campus facilities.
The bill, sponsored by Sen. Randy Fine, seeks to amend existing state law governing firearms on educational property while establishing new security provisions for university sporting events. If ratified, the measure would modify state law, which currently prohibits the possession of firearms at school-sponsored events and on school property, including K-12 institutions, school buses, and designated bus stops. |

1) Who introduced you to hunting and shooting sports, and why are hunting and the shooting sports important to you in your job representing Arkansans?
I have early memories of going out on the farm and learning how to properly shoot a gun from my dad as a kid and hunting with neighbors and friends in my later years. In a rural state like Arkansas, hunting and shooting sports are a way of life and central to our state’s identity. I keep those issues front of mind in the Senate, especially in my work on the Energy and Natural Resources Committee. |

Prosecutors have declined to charge a man who shot and killed another man a few months ago in the Rainbow Lakes Estates subdivision in west Marion County, stating they are "unable to disprove beyond a reasonable doubt that Shawn Niner's decision to use deadly force was unreasonable."
Assistant State Attorney Rich Buxman, in a memorandum about the case, said if additional evidence or testimony is obtained, then "the decision may be revisited."
Jeffery Robbins was shot once in the right upper chest, according to an autopsy report. The same report indicated his blood alcohol level was 0.229.
At the time of his death, Robbins was three days shy of his 42nd birthday. The man who admitted to shooting the victim, Niner, was 31. |

Gun Owners of America (GOA), together with Gun Owners Foundation (GOF) and individual plaintiffs, have filed a reply brief in their ongoing challenge to Tennessee’s unconstitutional restrictions on carrying firearms in public. The case, filed in the Chancery Court for the State of Tennessee, 28th Judicial District, Gibson County, seeks to have Tenn. Code Ann. §§ 39-17-1307(a) and 39-17-1311(a) declared unconstitutional for criminalizing the public carry of firearms.
Tennessee’s laws impose broad restrictions on carrying firearms in public spaces, such as parks, effectively criminalizing the right to self-defense. In our reply brief, we argue that these laws violate both the Second Amendment ... |

Two 19-year-old Connecticut residents and two gun advocacy groups are challenging state and federal gun laws denying them the ability to get a pistol permit due to their age, according to a federal lawsuit filed Tuesday.
Zachary Succow of Seymour and Samuel Towne of Norwich are also seeking immediate temporary and permanent injunction barring new U.S. Attorney General Pamela Jo Bondi and other federal and state officials from enforcing laws that prohibit 18- to 20-year-olds from obtaining a pistol permit, court papers said. |

Last fall, I was reminded of the long history of American ingenuity and invention in arms making when I flew to Minnesota to shoot Federal’s latest step forward, the 7 mm Backcountry.
This innovative cartridge is another refutation of the thankfully now past-tense Biden administration’s attempts to turn off the creative engines of the R&D departments in American firearms and ammunition companies. |

Firearms owners added another prong to their campaign against a sweeping Massachusetts law, filing a new federal lawsuit late last week challenging its constitutionality.
While other lawsuits and a repeal campaign continue to unfold, a coalition of industry groups including the National Rifle Association and Massachusetts gun owners on Friday sued over firearm age restrictions included in the wide-reaching package Gov. Maura Healey signed in July. |

“A federal district court judge held machine guns are protected arms under 2A but this is a trap set by anti-gunners,” Mark W. Smith, constitutional attorney, author, host of the Four Boxes Diner YouTube channel, and 2025 Gundies Award winner for “Top Voices of the 2A,” notes in a February 12 video entitled, 2A Machine Gun Trap: Do Not Take the Anti-Gunner’s Bait.
He’s referring to a January 29 order out of the United States District Court for the Southern District of Mississippi Northern Division by United States District Judge Carlton W. Reeves, a Barack Obama appointee, in the case of United States of America v. Justin Bryce Brown. |

Firearm owners are taking another aim at the state’s new gun laws, filing a federal lawsuit last week to challenge their constitutionality over its age limits.
On Friday, a coalition of industry groups, including the National Rifle Association and gun owners, filed a lawsuit challenging Massachusetts’s prohibition on the possession and carry of handguns and semiautomatic firearms by those under 21.
At the end of July, Gov. Maura Healey signed a sweeping gun bill aimed at cracking down on trace “ghost guns” and expanded the state’s red flag law. Along with other restrictions, the law bans 18-20-year-olds from possessing or carrying a handgun or semiautomatic firearm. |

About a week ago, we reported that Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis is proposing a tax holiday for purchasing firearms, ammunition and accessories. Dubbed “Second Amendment Summer,” DeSantis’s initiative would eliminate taxes on these products from Memorial Day to the Fourth of July.
Now, pro-gun lawmakers in neighboring Georgia are working toward a similar tax holiday of their own. Earlier this week, Republicans in the Georgia Senate passed a measure that would waive the sales tax on firearms purchases for 11 days beginning on the second Friday of October. |

Congressman Robert Garcia (D-Calif.) reminded the country last week why the Second Amendment is so vital to the United States.
The former Long Beach mayor called on the Democratic Party to “bring actual weapons” in the “fight for democracy.”
Those are chilling and dangerous words coming from a lawmaker who wants to strip every law-abiding citizen of their rights to keep and bear arms. Rep. Garcia made the call-to-action at the same time he used derogatory language to belittle Elon Musk, who has been heading up President Donald Trump’s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE). |

Pennsylvania Republican Attorney General Dave Sunday has broken his promise to defend the gun rights of the Commonwealth’s citizens.
On February 10th, AG Sunday filed a petition to overturn a court ruling that said the state’s law preventing 18–20-year-olds from carrying firearms during a declared state of emergency was unconstitutional. Many gun rights activists believed that Sunday wouldn’t contest the ruling in Lara v Paris because the Republican ran as a no-compromise candidate when it came to gun rights. Now, the Attorney General seems to be having a change of heart on guns. |

A significant shift in federal law enforcement priorities is taking shape, and it’s good news for gun owners.
Attorney General Pam Bondi’s Department of Justice (DOJ) has made it clear: going forward, they will focus on truly dangerous criminals—not law-abiding citizens caught in the web of arbitrary gun laws. This move signals a return to a rational and constitutional approach to firearm regulations, reinforcing the principle that Americans can only be disarmed if they are found to be a violent danger to themselves or others after due process. |

Many states trip over themselves to ensure gun owners keep their firearms locked up. They demand it, under penalty of law.
What these states don't do, though, is anything that might actually encourage people to get quality storage devices. The states will dictate it and leave it to you to figure out how you should pony up the money if you want to exercise your right to keep and bear arms. Georgia, however, is taking a different approach.

Arizonans who want to possess everything from pipe bombs to hand grenades will have to instead settle for automatic weapons, sawed-off shotguns and silencers.
It’s not what Rep. Alexander Kolodin proposed when he introduced HCR 2037. He contends that there is a constitutional – if not a God-given – right to possess not just traditional firearms but even what he called “weapons of war.’’
And Kolodin said it’s irrelevant even if Arizona were to repeal its laws prohibiting the possession of certain weapons that that Arizonans would suddenly be able to have rockets, Molotov cocktails or improvised explosive devices, all considered felonies under Arizona law. |

A state judge has ruled Pima County, Arizona, can’t fine residents $1,000 for failing to report lost or stolen guns within 48 hours.
On Tuesday, Arizona Superior Court Judge Greg Sakall ordered a permanent injunction against the county’s ordinance. He sided with gun-rights plaintiffs who argued the measure violated a state law designed to prevent localities from implementing their own gun restrictions. He even allowed plaintiffs to seek lawyer fees from the county.
“[T]he final judgment shall include a permanent injunction against the implementation or enforcement of Pima County Ordinance 2024-2,” Judge Sakall wrote in ACDL v. Pima County. |

Colorado Senate Democrats approved a bill on Tuesday morning that would ban the purchase of firearms with detachable ammunition magazines in all but very limited circumstances.
The vote was 19-15, with Democratic Sens. Marc Snyder and Tony Exum, Sr., both of Colorado Springs and Nick Hinrichsen of Pueblo, voting "no."
Snyder and Exum both asked to be removed as co-sponsors on the measure.
Senate Bill 3 went through a lengthy debate and a long list of amendments last week. |

QUOTES
TO REMEMBER |
The supposed quietude of a good mans allures the ruffian; while on the other hand, arms like laws discourage and keep the invader and the plunderer in awe, and preserve order in the world as well as property. The same balance would be preserved were all the world destitute of arms, for all would be alike; but since some will not, others dare not lay them aside...Horrid mischief would ensue were one half the world deprived of the use of them... — Thomas Paine, I Writings of Thomas Paine at 56 (1894). |
