Offering personalized firearms training for shooters of any skill level, employee-owned and operated Vortex Optics’ state-of-the-art Edge training facility in Wisconsin boasts the most comprehensive total-shooter training program I’ve seen in the Midwest.
Even the company’s introductory classes have a bold mission, with the Intro to Long Range course offering to “transform novices into marksmen in one half-day class.” We visited the Vortex Edge facility to experience the training firsthand, and I’ll admit upfront that it left me hungry for a second visit.

The 7mm Remington Magnum (7mm Rem Mag) was developed to compete with Roy Weatherby’s proprietary rifle cartridgess of the 1960s. This flat-shooting cartridge has tolerable recoil compared to other magnum rounds, and is incredibly balanced for the power it offers. The fact that it remains a favorite among hunters and long-range shooters is a testament to how great the 7mm Rem Mag really is.

Governor Larry Rhoden signed SB 81, which prohibits the use of a firearms code for transactions involving firearms, accessories, components, and ammunition and to provide a civil penalty therefor.
“I am proud to protect our Second Amendment rights with the signing of this bill,” said Governor Larry Rhoden. “South Dakota has seen strong growth of our firearm industry, and this bill will help that continue. I am grateful that both the bankers and the firearm industry came together on this issue.” |

Amanda Suffecool says she was born with a rattle in one hand and a Ruger in the other. She comes from a family of firearm enthsiasts. The patent-holding engineer turned instructor, turned activist, turned radio host, turned National Rifle Association (NRA) Board member is a fixture in the Second Amendment community. She might be a fixture, but Suffecool is not staying in one place, nor is she slowing down. |

The Democrat-controlled Virginia General Assembly passed multiple gun control bills on February 12, including several that are now on their way to Governor Glenn Youngkin’s office for his signature. The controversial legislation has prompted intense debate between supporters who say they view the bills as necessary for public safety, while opponents see the measure for what it is, an infringement on the rights of Americans as part of a larger disarmament agenda of the left. |
