Less Lethal Protection, a self-defense business that opened this past July, has already caught the attention of those who want to feel safe but don’t want to own a deadly weapon.
Prospective customers who visit the store located on Route 1 can get a demonstration of the “Byrna” pistol from owner Jack Hartzell, who attests to the ease of use for recoil-less guns.
“There’s really not a lot of training on these, particularly since none of these weapons have any recoil to it, which people love,” Hartzell said. “It’s basically aim and shoot.” |

Gun Owners of America (GOA) and the Coalition of New Jersey Firearm Owners have filed a lawsuit challenging New Jersey’s ban on hollow point ammo, one of the dumbest gun control laws in the nation.
The law prohibits people from carrying hollow point ammunition outside of their homes. However, they are allowed to use it inside their homes. GOA noted that “Despite being widely used by law enforcement and civilians across the country for personal protection, New Jersey’s draconian laws prohibit the possession of commonly used hollow point ammunition outside the home, leaving residents to carry substandard full metal jacket ammunition instead.” |

While advocating for Senate File 196, “Second Amendment Protection Act amendments” Bouchard told the Senate Agriculture, State and Public Lands and Water Resources Committee that there are many things that obstruct the public’s access to their constitutional rights, and in Bouchard’s opinion, SF 196 would amend some of these barriers. |

As the North Carolina General Assembly’s 2025 legislative session gets underway, top Republicans in the state are backing bills that would authorize gun owners to carry concealed handguns without obtaining a permit.
Senate Republicans filed a measure Tuesday titled “Freedom to Carry NC” with the support of Senate leader Phil Berger. Senate Bill 50 would allow permitless concealed carry for individuals who are U.S. citizens, at least 18 years of age, and not otherwise prohibited by law, according to the bill’s text.
North Carolina law currently requires gun owners to obtain permits from their local sheriff’s office in order to carry a concealed handgun. |

Gov. Ron DeSantis once again is telling Second Amendment advocates that he would sign a bill to allow them to openly carry a firearm, adding to the ongoing tension with legislative opponents on immigration.
To be sure, DeSantis has previously indicated he supports open carry or what is known as “constitutional carry” but has done little to push such legislation while in office. That said, this past weekend he took to social media to say if lawmakers were to approve such a bill, he would sign it. |

In a 54-46 vote, the upper chamber of Congress approved Pam Bondi’s ascension to Attorney General, with Pennsylvania Democrat John Fetterman as the only crossover vote in support. Her confirmation came despite opposition from some gun-rights activists over her mixed history on gun policy. Gun Owners of America expressed a willingness to work with Bondi but also skepticism about her intentions. |

A major pro-Second Amendment bill has been introduced in the North Carolina Senate that would bring the state in line with the growing number of states recognizing the right to carry a concealed firearm without government permission, also known as Constitutional Carry. Senate Bill 50, titled “Freedom to Carry NC,” was filed on February 4, 2025, by Senators Danny Britt, Warren Daniel, and Eddie Settle, marking a significant step toward restoring North Carolinians’ right to self-defense.
If passed, S.B. 50 would eliminate the requirement for a concealed handgun permit, allowing law-abiding citizens who are legally allowed to own a firearm to carry it concealed without a permit. |

A Republican lawmaker wants to repeal the Arizona law banning people from owning machine guns, silencers, sawed-off shotguns and even pipe bombs and other homemade explosive devices.
While federal law would still sharply restrict ownership of those deadly weapons, Rep. Alexander Kolodin’s “Shall Not Be Infringed Act” would make it impossible for local prosecutors to go after anyone who has those weapons, even if they’re breaking federal law to do so.
And that is exactly the point, Kolodin said. |

Republicans in Congress are making another effort to deregulate firearm suppressors, devices designed to protect shooters’ hearing, which other civilized countries have not only permitted but encouraged for years.
Introduced by U.S. Rep. Mike Lee, R-Utah, the “Silencers Help Us Save Hearing Act,” aka SHUSH Act, would change current law and treat silencers the same as other firearms accessories.
Senate cosponsors of the SHUSH Act include Republican Sens. Rick Scott of Florida, Pete Rickets of Nebraska, Roger Marshall of Kansas and John Curtis of Utah. The measure is being supported by the NRA, the National Association for Gun Rights (NAGR), GOA and the NSSF. |
