The Cameo Shooting and Education Complex recently hosted its fourth A Girl & A Gun national conference.
A Girl & A Gun, based in Austin, Texas, was founded in 2011 to connect women interested in shooting sports. What began as a girls’ night out at the shooting range has grown into the largest women’s shooting organization in the country, as well as the largest firearms training organization dedicated to women. This year, the national conference attracted 750 women and 100 instructors from across the country.
“We provide classes for shooting pistol, rifle and shotgun,” said Robyn Sandoval, president and CEO of A Girl & A Gun. |

Before a three-member panel of the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals on Thursday, a gun rights group urged the court to revive its lawsuit accusing Washington leaders of unfairly targeting the group based on its political beliefs.
“No matter how much advocacy the Second Amendment Foundation is engaged in right now, it's a hundred thousand dollars less than what it would've been without the retaliatory investigation,” said Jack Lovejoy, attorney with Corr Cronin representing the Second Amendment Foundation.
The Second Amendment Foundation accused former Washington Attorney General Bob Ferguson — now governor — of targeting the group in retaliation for its protected political speech. |

A new measure introduced by two pro-gun U.S. Senators is crafted to protect lawful American gun owners’ Second Amendment rights while also preventing violent criminals from having access to firearms.
Last week, Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, and Sen. Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa, introduced the Protecting Communities and Preserving the Second Amendment Act of 2025. The authors say the multi-pronged measure would take concrete steps to improve the National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS), prosecute gun crime and crack down on cartel-fueled gun trafficking. |

The Firearms Policy Coalition applauds the U.S. House of Representatives for passing a landmark budget reconciliation package early this morning, which includes a long-overdue full removal of firearm suppressors from the National Firearms Act (NFA). This measure marks an historic victory for Second Amendment advocates who have fought tirelessly to remove these vital hearing protection tools from the outdated and tyrannical constraints of the NFA. We strongly urge the U.S. Senate to preserve this critical language as they take up the bill. |

In a historic vote early Thursday morning, May 22, the U.S. House of Representatives passed H.R.1, known as the "One Big Beautiful Bill Act," effectively eliminating suppressors from the National Firearms Act (NFA) of 1934.
On May 14, the House Committee on Ways and Means completed a markup of the reconciliation bill, reducing the tax on suppressors from $200 to $0. However, even in that form, suppressors would still have been subject to other NFA regulations. |

Passing in a scalpel-slim 215-214 vote, the U.S. House of Representatives this morning voted to pass H.R. 1, better known as President Trump’s “One, Big, Beautiful Bill,” sending it on to the Senate. Included in the final House version of the bill is Section 2 of the Hearing Protection Act, which would remove suppressors entirely from the National Firearms Act of 1934.
The move is a historic advance for Second Amendment advocates. Just hours before the vote, gun rights backers – including here at Guns.com – directed a letter to House and Senate leadership demanding an end to the “unconstitutional National Firearms Act (NFA) tax scheme.” |

A Pennsylvania Sheriff’s Department is actively supporting the rights of its residents to carry firearms for self-defense by expanding the department’s outreach throughout the county to process License to Carry Firearms (LTCF) permits via satellite locations.
The Bucks County Sheriff’s Office, led by Bucks County Sheriff Fred Harran, initially launched its Mobile Gun Permit Unit program in 2022, a first-of-its-kind initiative to enhance public access to apply for and obtain a Pennsylvania LTCF permit. The Department of Justice (DOJ) reached an agreement with Rare Breed Triggers on Friday, May 16, reversing a Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) action that banned forced reset devices at the behest of the Biden administration. The deal comes as the DOJ, headed by United States Attorney General Pam Bondi, has been taking steps to investigate Second Amendment infringements by individual states as well as the federal government. It is part of the Trump administration’s initiative recommitting to American gun rights following the President’s Executive Order, Protecting Second Amendment Rights. |

The House Ways & Means Committee has sent the original Hearing Protection Act (HPA) language to the Senate, effectively deregulating suppressors from the National Firearms Act of 1934 (NFA).
If approved, this would be the most monumental Second Amendment victory in my lifetime, one that I have personally been disillusioned enough to believe would never happen. Getting to this point, however, was not smooth sailing. It required the voices of millions of Americans, calling their representatives, bombarding switchboards, and flooding the Ways & Means Committee phone line to clear the murky waters soiled by fake Republicans attempting to water down the HPA into nothing more than a tax stamp discount. |

This week, in rather dramatic fashion, silencer deregulation ended up in the House budget bill.
After a bruising political fight, Republicans added a provision delisting silencers from the National Firearms Act (NFA) of 1934 to their massive budget legislation just before passing it. As I lay out for readers, that puts one of the gun-rights movement’s top priorities closer to becoming law than ever before. But I also explain why there is a possibly insurmountable hurdle waiting in the Senate. |

The Justice Department ended three high-profile lawsuits involving a gun parts manufacturer in a win for firearms advocates after Attorney General Pam Bondi committed to easing bureaucratic restrictions on Second Amendment rights.
The deal marked the first major action from the DOJ's Second Amendment Enforcement Task Force following President Donald Trump’s February executive order aimed at restoring gun protections. The settlement, announced Friday, halts the federal government’s efforts to regulate and seize “forced-reset triggers” under the National Firearms Act. |

Hammer, a former NRA president and female face of the NRA, sued the beleaguered gun rights group earlier this month, alleging her longtime cash cow unlawfully breached the 10-year $220,000-a-year consulting contract she signed in 2018 with the NRA’s now-disgraced former boss Wayne LaPierre. Hammer is also seeking cash damages for fraud and the continued unauthorized use of her name, image and likeness. |

Laws banning the carry or possession of weapons in government buildings are a very late addition to the United States of America. At the time of the ratification of the Bill of Rights, including the Second Amendment, there were only three places where the possession and carry of weapons were banned with some regularity. Those were: Court rooms while court was in session; legislative chambers where governmental bodies were involved in their legislative duties; and polling places on election day. There were no bans on carrying or possessing weapons in most public buildings, most of the time. From the Supreme Court Bruen opinion, bold added p. 27: |

Joined by nearly 40 industry representatives, medical professionals, and Second Amendment groups including Gun Owners of America (GOA) and the National Rifle Association (NRA), ASA makes the case for Congressional Republicans to remove suppressors from the NFA by including section 2 of the Hearing Protection Act (HPA) in the “One Big, Beautiful Bill.” |

The National Rifle Association (NRA) has petitioned the U.S. Supreme Court to review Florida’s law that raised the minimum age to purchase rifles and long guns from 18 to 21. This move follows seven years of litigation challenging the law enacted after the February 2018 Parkland school shooting.
The NRA’s petition highlights a split between federal appeals courts: the 11th Circuit upheld Florida’s law in March with an 8-4 ruling; however, the 5th Circuit found a similar federal restriction unconstitutional. According to the NRA, “This split between the circuits over so fundamental a question is intolerable, and it urgently calls for this Court’s resolution.” |
