Politics—especially when individual liberty is at stake—are an endless struggle. Lazy, ideological minds return bad ideas to us over and over again. The falsehoods and logical fallacies from gun-control marketers are repackaged and sold again. For short periods of time, one might reasonably say that the advocates of freedom have “won.” But such victories can only be assured if our efforts are constantly renewed.

I wish I had purchased a transferrable select-fire AR-15 lower receiver back when they were affordable! How many times have I run this through my mind since 1986. Finally, the chance to acquire a quality AR lower that shoots in semi-automatic mode nearly as fast as a select fire lower is here. Franklin Armory’s complete lower receiver equipped with a binary trigger is the answer to my prayer.

A high-profile double homicide outside of the Capital Jewish Museum in Washington, D.C. may be exploited by the gun prohibition lobby but the bottom line is that it underscores the common denominator of all such crimes: Dangerous, determined people ignore even the strictest gun control laws.

I have a long history with the Ruger 10/22.

I own more of these than any other single rifle, and each has a certain role to fill. Plinking and informal target shooting are included in these roles, but also tactical training and even simulated sniper roles. Suffice to say that whatever a .22 LR can do, the 10/22 excels at it!

The Daniel Defense H9 is an optic-ready, striker-fired 9mm pistol with a great sight picture, low bore axis, and superior ergonomics and shootability.

The H9 was released in 2024 and by early 2025 we had heard so much about the pistol, both positive and negative, that we had to get our hands on one to see for ourselves.

There is nothing quite like a good American road trip, am I right? A bag full of junk food, some good music and a camera to document the adventures that lie ahead. I cannot tell you how many times I have traveled from my home state of Tennessee to the West and vice versa now that I reside in Arizona. Let’s just say I’m not too big on airplanes.

After passing along party lines, a bill to raise the age for buying semi-automatic guns heads to Nevada Gov. Joe Lombardo’s desk for what could be a veto. Assembly Bill 245 would raise the minimum purchasing age of assault rifles and semi-automatic shotguns to 21 from 18. Despite its passage, the bill looks unlikely to become law because Lombardo vetoed a similar bill in 2023.

Claims that Thomas Jefferson said, “The beauty of the Second Amendment is that it will not be needed until they try to take it,” receive scrutiny in a recent Snopes fact-check. Despite widespread sharing on social media, including posts by public figures, researchers find no documentary evidence to substantiate this quotation’s attribution to the Founding Father.
