A Detroit police detective is the subject of an internal investigation after he was arrested in Auburn Hills last week for drunken driving while in possession of two pistols.

Noe Garcia, a detective in the 3rd Precinct, had a blood-alcohol level of .14 percent, nearly twice Michigan's legal limit of .08 — and seven times the limit of .02 percent allowed while carrying a firearm — when he was stopped on Interstate 75 on April 30, according to an Auburn Hills police report.

Detroit police Sgt. Nicole Kirkwood said: "We are aware of this situation and have initiated an internal investigation."

Shannon Watts has developed her persona as a “full-time volunteer” who wants nothing more than to bring “common sense gun laws” to this country. However, she once again reminded gun owners of her true agenda with a recent tweet. We are used to individuals misrepresenting our message to push their own political agendas, but, in this case, we thought it necessary to correct the record.

On 7 May, 2019, Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro issued a decree further reforming Brazil's extremely strict laws on gun ownership and carry.

Keeping his campaign promises, President Bolsonaro signed an initial decree only two weeks into his presidency, in January of this year.

The decree signed on 7 May makes it a little easier for Brazilians, who wish to use their guns to defend themselves, to train and to do so.

Advocates and opponents of tighter gun regulations descended on the State House on Friday as lawmakers held public hearings on several bills that would tighten or loosen Maine’s gun laws.

Bills before the Legislature’s Criminal Justice and Public Safety Committee would require home gun safes, trigger locks and background checks for private gun sales or exchanges. Another bill would ban high-capacity magazines. One measure would permit the use of deadly force, partly by eliminating a requirement to retreat.

May 9th was the deadline for the majority of bills to pass from their chamber of origin to the opposite chamber. Despite efforts by anti-gun legislators to restrict your rights, no gun control bills have advanced. Your NRA would like to thank the pro-Second Amendment majorities in both the Senate and House of Representatives for protecting the rights of law-abiding citizens and stopping these bills. The most egregious of these bills include:

A recent series of bans by Facebook and Twitter is bringing the question of censorship by the giant technology companies from Silicon Valley to the fore. This is not a minor issue – how this shakes out will decide whether or not Second Amendment supporters can even make an argument for our rights online.

To understand how social media had been prior to the 2016 election, take a typical commentary from Ammoland. Second Amendment supporters could post a link to it, and it would give their friends and family a chance to get the facts on a given issue involving the Second Amendment.

A controversial bill introduced to Congress earlier this year would seek to allow lawful medical marijuana users to legally purchase and possess firearms and ammunition in accordance with their Second Amendment rights guaranteed to them by the United States Constitution. H.R. 2071 was first introduced in April by Republican Congressman, Rep. Alex Mooney of West Virginia.

Previously, citizens enrolled in state-run medical marijuana programs were prohibited from legally purchasing and owning firearms and ammunition. On the other hand, opioid users retain all of their gun rights, so long as they have a valid prescription.

As DiFranco put her hand on Hawes shoulder to comfort her, the room erupted into applause.

On a 4-1 vote, Foster became the fourth Rhode Island municipality to declare themselves a Second Amendment Sanctuary Town.

The main difference between the ASDW and its M4 cousin is the redesign of the upper receiver to include a specialized locking system from Cry Havoc Tactical. With this lock in place, a user can attach or detach the barrel assembly from the rest of the gun without special tools. The North Carolina-headquartered firm says that, with proper training, a shooter can put the weapon together and be ready to fire within 60 seconds.

Dozens of gun-owning residents and advocacy groups, including the National Rifle Association, weighed in Friday on a pile of gun control bills ranging from prohibiting the sale of high-capacity magazines to instituting 72-hour waiting periods for gun buyers.

Critics filled hearing rooms at the Maine Statehouse to speak emotionally about the dangers of governmental overreach, while supporters inspired by Democratic wins in November called for compromise on gun safety legislation. Lawmakers also weighed bills to regulate 3D printed guns and punish those who store a loaded firearm that a child then uses.

Their desire for strict gun control laws is based largely on misperceptions. They believe that Americans rarely use firearms to protect their rights and liberties, and they think commonly proposed gun control laws will meaningfully address gun-related violence.

But the reality is quite different.

 QUOTES TO REMEMBER
