Long, long ago in a galaxy far, far away I was a professional frog kisser. My two bosses were also frog kissers and they encouraged me to be one also. Frog kissin’ can be rewarding or disappointing. Sometimes when we kiss a frog we find we still have a frog, however sometimes that frog becomes a beautiful princess or handsome prince. In my frog kissin’ career, it was very rare to find a frog, which remained a frog.

Hollow Soft Point Ammo: HSP Bullets Explained

The hollow soft point (HSP) is an uncommon bullet type due to advances in bullet technology replacing it among major ammo distributors. It can still be found, however, and the best way to describe it is between a hollow point and a soft point bullet. While most hollow points are either fully jacketed or not at all, these are almost always semi-jacketed. Semi-jacketed means the bullet has a harder metal on the lower half of the bullet, coating the lead. What this does is allow expansion, but the expansion is rather limited when compared to a typical hollow point.

On April 25, 2023, Washington Gov. Jay Inslee (D) signed HB1240 into law. The legislation is a sweeping, and flagrantly unconstitutional ban on commonly-owned semi-automatic firearms. The law prohibits a host of rifles by name, including America’s most popular rifle, the AR-15, “in all forms.” The prohibition also targets centerfire rifles capable of accepting a detachable magazine and are equipped with one enumerated feature – such as certain popular barrel attachments, grips, and stocks.

There was a terrible shooting in Allen, Texas. It was another Christian, NRA, Republican person of pallor who did it. Oh... wait a minute. It turned out not to be any of those things, at least not based on what we know now. It took law enforcement forever to tell us about it, which immediately made me suspicious that the shooter wasn't going to be from one of the chosen murderer demographics – the ones the left and mainstream media really like.

A firearms bill passed by Hawaii lawmakers will make filing lawsuits on many of the state’s gun laws easier, a Second Amendment advocate told The Center Square. If Senate Bill 1230 becomes law, it would be illegal to carry firearms in what the bill deems “sensitive places,” including government buildings, hospitals, restaurants and bars that serve alcohol, stadiums, movie theaters, concert halls, schools and colleges. The bill is on Gov. Josh Green's desk after receiving approval from lawmakers last week.

Gun control challenges core tenets of their ideology. To convince them to support it, you’d have to convince them to abandon right-wing ideology altogether. That’s why they just need to be thrown out of office.

The Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms has just identified the “assault weapon” gun banners don’t want to ban, but when it comes to mayhem, this one has quite a body count to its credit, including eight people killed Sunday at a bus stop in Brownsville, Texas.

A man identified as George Alvarez drove a motor vehicle into a crowd of pedestrians outside a migrant center in Brownsville, killing eight and injuring ten other people, say published reports. The suspect has been charged with eight counts of manslaughter and 10 counts of “aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.”

Following its introduction in 1935, there was a long period of time when .357 Magnum ruled over the other handgun cartridges. The .357 earned an impressive reputation for “one-shot stops” when used by police officers. Sportsmen used it to take virtually every species of North American game animal, including moose and grizzlies, plus other big critters across the world.

There is nothing funny about murder and banning the Second Amendment is not a laughing matter. Comedian Michael Ian Black didn’t wait for facts after one innocent American was killed, and several others injured, by a murderer using a handgun in an Atlanta medical facility. He wasted little time in calling for the Second Amendment to be repealed – no ifs, ands or buts.

With all due respect to the Washington Post, the headline to the recent article referenced in the title of this piece reminds us of the iconic phrase uttered by the character Inigo Montoya in the 1987 film Princess Bride. “You keep using that word (in this case, words, as in “courts” and “win”). I do not think it means what you think it means.” A headline announcing “using the courts to win on…gun control” would lead one to believe that the ensuing article would have a few references to impressive successes through the judicial process; or even one success.

Scalise said on Monday to CNN that he opposed the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act, which Biden signed into law in June.

Introduced in 1980, the 9x21mm IMI was a creation between the Franco Benvenuti agency of Italy and Israel Military Industries (IMI). Many countries, including Italy and most of the European Union, have banned the use of all military ammunition, such as the 9mm Parabellum. In order to circumvent gun control measures, the collaborative effort to create a substitute ammunition was seen as a good resolution and would allow civilians to own and use a powerful cartridge without fear of repercussions.

The firearm and hunting world is always abuzz when a new firearm caliber is announced. However, the excitement is usually quickly tempered by the question: What guns will shoot the new cartridge? Such was the case with the recent introduction of the straight-walled Winchester 400 Legend, which was given early testing in a Winchester Repeating Arms XPR prototype by NRA Women contributor Melissa Bachman.

Mobile turkey hunters don’t like to be bogged down by a heavy shotgun. That’s one of the reasons manufacturers that build turkey-specific repeaters and break-actions have moved away from walnut and steel shotguns to synthetics—composite stocks and fore-ends are lighter. But the problem with a lightweight 7-pound 12-gauge turkey shotgun is it typically doesn’t handle recoil well. That makes it difficult to be precise when a gobbler struts into range.

Gun buyers in Illinois who initiated firearms transfers during the six-day window when the state was enjoined from enforcing a ban on more than 170 semi-automatic guns and certain magazines are in limbo now that the law is back in effect. The Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals looks to consolidate several gun ban challenges into one. On April 28, Southern District of Illinois federal Judge Stephen McGlynn enjoined the state from enforcing the ban, which led to record gun sales in the state.
