Deputies had responded to a shooting call at an apartment building in the 200 block of Southwest 1st Terrace around 10:15 p.m. and found the man who'd been shot, Broward Sheriff's Office officials said.

Wright and the shooter, an adult female, were known to each other, officials said.

In a dramatic incident at a home in Whitby, Jason Munroe faced armed intruders who shot his son. Munroe wrestled a gun from one intruder and then shot at them as they fled. Although he initially lied to the police about using the gun, he later admitted his actions, stating he would have killed the intruders if given the chance. In 2025, Justice Nathan N. Baker ruled that Munroe acted in self-defense during the altercation inside his home but found him guilty of recklessly discharging a firearm by shooting from his porch.

Munroe received a two-year house arrest sentence and three years of probation. The Crown appealed, seeking a longer sentence, but the Ontario Court of Appeal upheld Baker's decision...

“My client and the gal involved, that was the first time they met in person, and my client had no prior interactions or knowledge of the deceased,” Holmes said. “Defense of others is a viable defense claim in the state of Wyoming.”

Ingalls was bound over to Weston County District Court on Wednesday to face a charge of second-degree murder in the death of Jason Greene.

Holmes said that he feels Ingalls has a case for acting in the defense of the woman and not with intent to kill Greene.

“I don’t agree that this was cold-blooded murder,” he told Cowboy State Daily following Wednesday’s preliminary hearing. “This was a case where Mr. Ingalls acted out of self-defense for the other individual involved.”

The month of August kicked off in devastating fashion for residents of Twin Falls, Idaho, when a rifle-wielding gunman opened fire on employees and patrons outside of In-N-Out Burger restaurant, killing three and injuring seven before taking his own life. Video quickly surfaced, however, of an armed bystander engaging the gunman during the rampage, advancing toward him while returning fire with his own suppressed pistol. Police have since praised the bystander—identified as 35-year-old healthcare worker Jordan Salinas—as a “hero,” crediting him with saving “many lives” by diverting the gunman’s attention and allowing potential victims to escape.

A federal judge for the U.S. District Court for the Central District of Illinois, Springfield Division, ruled without trial that foster homes and in-home day care centers are sensitive areas and that guns could be regulated in these private residences.

The case, Miller v. Mueller (18-cv-3085), challenged the Illinois Day Care Home Rule (89 Ill. Admin. Code § 406.8(a)(17)–(18)) and Foster Home Rule (related provisions under 89 Ill. Admin. Code § 402). The Day Care Home Rule prohibited handguns in any home that offers home day care (with limited exceptions for peace officers or certain employment-required possession by residents).

A Fort Worth resident returned home to find a man already on the property despite an active protective order connected to someone living there, and what followed became a deadly exchange of gunfire that left one man dead and the resident hospitalized.

...

Noir was careful not to describe the shooting itself as a clear-cut self-defense case. He said he did not know who drew first, what was said immediately before the gunfire, or whether either man escalated the confrontation, while emphasizing that investigators had already established one important fact: the man who died was not supposed to be on the property under the existing court order.

There is a reason why it is worth it to pay the money for a proper concealed carry course, and a clip that is circulating on social media is a classic exhibit.

The short clip was posted on X Monday, where it asked whether one should have their thumb on the back of the slide in certain self-defense situations – acknowledging that it means your gun is likely to jam. The full video was taken from was a YouTube video posted in May by Armed Defender Research that is more akin to a takedown of the idea – so what you saw on X was actually taken out of context.

In a July 2026 Substack post titled “Instruct your Representatives Tennessee,” C. Richard Archie—a West Tennessee Director and Board Member of the Tennessee Firearms Association (TFA)—issues a forceful call to action for Tennessee citizens to exercise their constitutional authority over state lawmakers.

Published in his newsletter The Truth of the 2nd Amendment in TN, the article draws directly from Article I, Section 23 of the Tennessee Constitution, which guarantees citizens the right “to assemble together for their common good, to instruct their representatives, and to apply to those invested with the powers of government for redress of grievances.”

A viewer, Jim, asked what criteria make a gun a “ghost” gun, adding: “Any additional laws pertaining to a ghost gun and not to a standard weapon? What are the differences between the two types of guns?”

Rochester Police say a “ghost gun” — also known as a privately manufactured firearm or PMF — is a firearm without a serial number. Commercially made, legal firearms generally have serial numbers so they can be identified and tracked.

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms echoed Rochester police’s definition. The bureau added that there are 10 different types of privately made firearms and more than 45,000 privately manufactured firearms were reported to the ATF between 2016 and 2021.

In Bakersfield alone, law enforcement traced 83 guns to the store from 2023 to 2025, according to newly released data from the California Department of Justice. That was the highest number for a store with an active firearms dealer license in any of the state’s 10 most populous cities.

The Trace reported in May that the Turner’s Outdoorsman chain, which has over 30 locations across California, accounted for a disproportionate share of crime guns recovered in the state. CADOJ defines crime guns as those used in a crime, suspected to have been used in a crime, or illegally possessed.

No, a Texas judge did not just make all 3D printed guns legal. The ruling is considerably narrower than some reports suggest.

What U.S. District Judge Reed O’Connor (TX) said in his ruling on Monday was that two parts of the federal government’s 2022 framework for deciding when certain unfinished firearm frames, receivers, and parts kits are treated as firearms are unconstitutional and cannot be enforced against the plaintiffs. The ATF’s 2022 “Frame or Receiver” rule expanded the circumstances in which certain partially completed firearm components and build kits can count as firearms.

The sordid history of American gun owners losing their Second Amendment right to keep and bear arms over criminal convictions for nonviolent crimes might soon be coming to an end.

On August 17, Attorney General Todd Blanche finalized a federal regulation allowing eligible individuals who are prohibited from possessing firearms to apply for the restoration of their federal firearm rights. According to Blanche, the final rule would protect Second Amendment rights while keeping firearms out of the hands of dangerous individuals.

The debate about gun control takes up so much bandwidth that we forget the Second Amendment isn’t just about owning and carrying guns – it’s about “the right to keep and bear arms” – and one carjacker found that out the hard way.

The Sunday incident occurred when a teenager tried to force an older Lyft driver to give up her car at knifepoint, WJLA, a Washington, D.C., TV Station, reported. However, the driver feigned compliance, but instead of handing over her key, she retrieved a can of pepper spray given to her by her father and sprayed the carjacker in the face.

Can the federal government impose firearm regulations on an incomplete hunk of metal? One federal judge says no.

In 2022, the Biden administration’s Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives issued final rules entitled Definition of “Frame or Receiver” and Identification of Firearms. A federal judge for the Northern District of Texas said Tuesday, what the ATF regulates as a firearm changed 45 years of precedent to include partially manufactured frames and receivers as “firearms.”

The final rule also amends ATF’s definition of “firearm” to include weapon parts kits that are “designed to or may readily be completed, assembled, restored, or otherwise converted to expel a projectile by the action of an explosive.”
