The history of the .32 Automatic Colt Pistol is a rich one, filled with ups and downs, assassinations, suicides, and even iconic heroes. Its beginnings date back to 1899, when John Browning created his first successful commercial automatic pistol, and its legacy continues through today with most American and all European ammunition companies still manufacturing rounds in .32 caliber ammunition.

The city has delivered a load of 384 guns to an incineration facility, following up on an initiative announced in late July by Mayor Sheldon Neeley.

The city announced the disposal delivery in a news release Tuesday, Sept. 1, diverting the weapons from auctions where they had been sold previously.

“I am proud of our city for taking this strong stance as part of our overall fight to reduce gun violence,” Police Chief Terence Green said in a statement issued by the city. “It’s good to be home and doing police work in the city I know and love.”

On July 29, Hart and Neeley announced their plans to no longer auction confiscated guns, part of a program that’s aimed at reversing Flint’s increasing violent crime rate.

Trump, however, accused Wheeler of allowing violent demonstrations by left-wing protesters to continue in the city for the past three months. The president called the mayor a “fool.”

The Supreme Court decision which opened the door to allow almost any American to own firearms specifically stated that the Second Amendment does not prohibit laws forbidding the carrying of firearms in “sensitive” places. In the District of Columbia vs. Heller in 2008, the court ruled 5-4 that citizens have the right to possess firearms even when not in a state militia, and people can use them for lawful purposes, which include self-defense in their homes, according to Britannica.com.

August 2020 saw more gun sales than any other August on record as Americans continue to rush to gun stores at a record pace. A Washington Free Beacon analysis of FBI data released on Tuesday found a 57 percent increase in sales compared to August 2019. There were at least 1.6 million sales in August 2020. Only two previous Augusts had broken a million sales, though limitations in FBI reporting means that not every gun sale is captured in the data. August represents the sixth month in a row to set a new sales record with March seeing the most gun sales of any month in the history of the FBI background check system.

Late last night, the California Legislature adjourned the 2020 Legislative Session. Three anti-gun bills, AB 2362, AB 2847, and SB 914, passed the Legislature and will now be enrolled to Governor Newsom for his consideration. It's important that gun owners contact the Governor and urge his veto of these measures. The deadline to sign or veto legislation is September 30th. Fortunately, SB 1175, legislation banning the importation of lawfully hunted African species, failed to receive a concurrence vote in the Senate and is dead for the year.

Teenager Kyle Rittenhouse’s shooting of three men in Kenosha, Wisconsin, has sharpened the debate between left and right over whether rioting can be justly met with violence. Opinions about Rittenhouse’s attempt to interpose himself and his AR-15 between rioters and buildings in Kenosha have become entangled with beliefs about the relative value of property versus people, a juxtaposition dishonestly advanced by the left.
