HAPPY NEW YEAR TO YOU AND YOURS
We who make KeepAndBearArms.com happen wish you and your loved ones a genuinely bright and prosperous New Year filled with peace and freedom.
While it does appear that the enemies of liberty are very committed to stealing what is left of your rights, let's all keep one thing in mind this year: we're armed to the teeth, and we each have personal lines in the sand that nobody will ever get to cross.
Let's hear some New Year's Resolutions about using civil means and our collective voices to restore this nation. And let's see some follow-through. |

City Police Commissioner Kevin P. Clark was asked:
"What do you think needs improvement?"
His response includes:
"I'd also like to get better at getting guns off the street and making good gun cases. [U.S. Attorney Thomas M.] DiBiagio has been very receptive to taking any cases that we get. [The number of gun cases accepted by federal prosecutors has increased to 216 through the first 11 months of last year, up from 89 in 2002]. ... If we get a guy, we need to take the time to look at his background, see if he has a prior arrest for a gun or a conviction. The cases DiBiagio has taken, the success rate exceeds the state level." ...
NOTE:
A "prior arrest for a gun" could be as simple as carrying a firearm for self-defense without the hard-to-come-by "permit". In other words, this "civil servant" wants to increase the persecution of American citizens for exercising their right to keep and bear arms -- and he's brazenly bragging about it in the largest newspaper in the State. |

" 'I went to Lake Powell for two weeks on vacation with my wife and came back and they had built the road exactly where I told them not to build it,' said Brynildson, a business owner in western Colorado."
"The fact that Brynildson and his wife, Linda, had little say over the decision by Encana Oil and Gas USA is at the heart of one of the fiercest fights over energy development in the West: the so-called 'split estate,' where landowners have surface rights and someone else -- like an energy company -- owns the rights to the underground minerals." ... -------

An Anonymouse says: "THE AVAILABILITY in America of heavy weaponry for criminal uses remains a serious homeland security issue of its own, yet the men and women on Capitol Hill who should be doing something about it have been ducking for the past four years. Too many lawmakers who know full well the need for tighter gun safety laws have been spooked by 'gun rights' groups into believing that talking about more controls is political suicide. True, the controlling players in Congress have been less than open to serious gun-control advocacy; but this hush is now giving way to truly bad moves to undo some of the best gun safety measures on the books and to give the gun industry an excessively large and unnecessary special-interest shield against lawsuits." ...

FLASH BANG?
For those new to various terms describing modern police equipment, the "flash bang" to which this reporter refers is a sound (percussion) grenade. Large, deafening blast of sound, without the annoying shrapnel that tends of mess up your skin and bones.
BATF uses these devices against The People with some frequency, to create an element of surprise and disorientation when coming to ruin your life in the middle of the night. The theory -- and it seems to work well -- is that if a large explosion happens a foot or two away from your head while you're soundly sleeping, you'll be less likely to harm the important government employees aiming machineguns and shining very bright lights at you. This is for your own good and should not be confused with the very same tactics used on dynamic entries by Mr. Hitler's employees. |

An off-duty police officer was shot dead at his home at Mandela Park in Umtata on Tuesday, Eastern Cape police said on Wednesday.
Superintendent Nondumiso Jafta said the policeman was at home with his wife and two children when three men wearing balaclavas entered the house.
One of the men fired several shots at the police officer, who died.
The policeman's wife and children were held at gunpoint while the killers took the victim's service firearm, fifteen rounds of ammunition and two cellphones.
Police found six cartridges at the scene. -------
The police can't even protect themselves, but they want the people to disarm into complete defenselessness. If this cop was one of those who disarmed innocent people, the Law of Cosmic Justice just exacted restitution. |

POLICE have impounded an Audi sedan which they believe was one of the cars involved in a shooting at Punchbowl last Friday afternoon.
The silver car was one of three sighted speeding from the front of a house in Wattle St -- as a gunman standing outside the residence fired at least eight shots.
Acting on information that they had received, police found the Audi dumped in the rear yard of a home in Macquarie Fields on Saturday.
The officers questioned the vehicle's owner, but later released him without charge.
Meanwhile, ballistics tests are still being carried out on a semi-automatic rifle recovered from the Wattle St house. Police said they were still looking for the gunman. |

"POLICE were questioning a 37-year-old nightclub doorman last night in connection with the murder of a police officer."
"Nathan Coleman, who is thought to be American, was arrested by armed police at a hotel in Gateshead, Tyne and Wear, after a tip-off from a member of the public. He was later transferred to a Leeds police station in a high-speed convoy that included an armed escort."

Toronto police are searching for two armed men who hijacked a tractor-trailer load of frozen chicken from a trucker in Montreal.
The unidentified truck driver received minor injuries when the two men, armed with a shotgun and assault rifle commandeered his truck in Montreal. The men bound the driver with duct tape and tossed him into the cab's sleeping compartment, the Toronto Sun said.
The thieves drove to Toronto and unloaded the cargo of 56,000 pounds of chicken at an unknown location and then abandoned the vehicle on a major highway Tuesday morning.
The driver managed to free himself and drove to the nearest pay phone.
The value of the haul, depending on the cuts, could be as high as $80,000, the newspaper said. |

"Illegal handguns were used to kill seven of the 12 homicide victims in Peel Region in 2003."
