Former Vice President Joe Biden’s blistering criticism in September of the new Texas law allows guns in church has come back to haunt him like the Ghost of Silly Comments Past in the wake of Sunday’s heroic actions by an armed parishioner that stopped a church shooting in White Settlement.
On the other hand, the Dallas Morning News editorial page appears to be scoring kudos for expressing gratitude that “a good man and a volunteer member of the church’s security team immediately shot back” when the gunman opened fire, killing two men at the West Freeway Church of Christ. |

A columnist writing at AZCentral.com suggests it was “terrifying” that parishioners were armed at the church in White Settlement, Texas. On December 29, Breitbart News reported that a gunman at West Freeway Church of Christ opened fire, only to be shot dead by an armed parishioner. Jack Wilson, the good guy with a gun, was one of many parishioners who drew their guns to fight back when the heinous attack began. |

A retired U.S. Army sniper told Fox News Monday that more people would have been murdered in a Texas church over the weekend if 2020 Democratic frontrunner Joe Biden had his way and more restrictive gun laws were in effect.
Ryan Cleckner told Mark Steyn on Monday's "Tucker Carlson Tonight" that Biden was completely wrong about the supposed danger of a Texas law allowing firearms to be carried in houses of worship.
"If [Biden] he has his way, there would be a lot more people dead in that church," Cleckner said.
The veteran added Biden is one of many gun-control advocates who appear n including long-established laws against murder.ot to understand that criminals by definition don't obey laws, |

Sabot slugs – pronounced “SAY-BO” – are the improved and technologically superior brother of rifled slugs, because they simply offer more accuracy and longer range from a shotgun, typically with a rifled barrel. This type of slug is encased (or otherwise attached) to a wad or bore-sleeve – which basically grips the rifling in the barrel and gives the projectile inside the spin needed to fly smoothly. |

With precious few guns on the market chambered to fire it, and even fewer load options for those guns, the 5.7x28 mm FN cartridge has seemingly been on life support for most of its 30-year lifespan, kept alive only through the patronage of a small but dedicated fan club and select military/government agency adoption. |

As during a Texas church shooting on Sunday, guns save lives, so supporting the Second Amendment is pro-life. Abortion, on the other hand, takes a life every single time. Studies on incidents of defensive gun use range anywhere from an absurdly low 55,000 to a high of 4.7 million per year. The most commonly cited and widely accepted is the 1995 study by Gary Kleck and Marc Gertz, which estimates that between 2.1 and 2.5 million defensive gun use instances occur in the United States each year.

The year 2019 started off strong when it came to new gun introductions, including a huge surprise from Mossberg—its first handgun 100 years—to Colt’s, Walther, SIG Sauer, Springfield and others, who were next out of the gate with new models. By mid-January during SHOT Show's Media Day at the Range, our editors’ heads were spinning from the dozens more handguns, long guns, optics and accessories they were lining up to test and savor throughout the year. This made their decisions all the more difficult late in 2019 when it came to nominating and selecting their favorites from the crop of new products—a process reminiscent of heated debates that take place in the halls of Congress. |

The scientific term is entropy. This is a quantifiable measure of the amount of disorder in a system. Everything naturally descends into a greater state of entropy. This simply means we inevitably get old. Aging is not for sissies. Mundane things like turning my head when I back up the car can now be an ordeal. A foolish youth, spent relentlessly driving my body, has taken its inevitable toll. Now past the half-century mark I have come to appreciate there are some serious considerations when you wish to remain prickly after a Certain Age.

Richard Jewell, the movie, shows Richard as a clear, unapologetic member of the American gun culture. I saw Clint Eastwood's latest movie, Richard Jewell, on Friday evening, December 27th, 2019, in Fort Worth, Texas. I have been a Clint Eastwood fan for decades. His work as a director has been excellent. I highly recommend the movie.

With precision rifles being all the rage these days, the accessory market has grown exponentially with all kinds of tools, gadgets, toys, and gear. Some of these accessories are specific to certain rifle platforms, while others are application-specific. The proliferation of precision rifle competitions has brought its own set of gadgetry designed to give a competitor an edge. As the sport of PRS has evolved, the guns and gear seen on the firing line change every year. For 2019, I’ve found that the “must-have” accessory is a rifle mounted plate for stability off barricades and odd firing positions.

Thompson Auto-Ordnance, maker of the famous “Tommy Gun” and other classic firearms throughout history, is proud to introduce the 75th Anniversary Commemorative Iwo Jima Series. After nearly four long years of fighting, members of the United States Marine Corps, Navy, Army, and Coast Guard had accomplished many seemingly insurmountable tasks. Yet in February of 1945, a battle lay before them that would go down in our nation’s history as one of the most difficult victories ever achieved. On the desolate volcanic atoll known as Iwo Jima, a new chapter was written in the history of the United States military–and in particular of the Marines, who fought tooth and nail for every inch of land against a suicidal foe.

According to CNN, the man suspected of stabbing Jews during a Chanukah celebration at a rabbi's home in Monsey, New York was taken into custody with "blood all over him." However, Pamela Geller has reported on Twitter what neither CNN nor any of the other anti-Semitic media outlets would dare to print: "Monsey Machete Assailant Is Recent Muslim Convert and May Be Linked to Another BRUTAL Synagogue Stabbing." Likely, the man's head was filled with verses from the Koran and the Sunna, like this one from Sahih Muslim 41:6981, 6983: "[A] stone says: Muslim, here is a Jew behind me; kill him!"
