President Obama's latest push for new gun regulations is a distraction. It is a distraction designed for the news media and the low information voter. After all, President Obama merely has to whisper the words "mass murder" and the Democrat news media will parade a backdrop of bloody victims on a green screen. Those images are enough to convince many Americans.

President Obama raised more than eyebrows at the White House this month when he declared he would defy Congress and pursue enhanced gun control methods through executive action.

In part, the action would close the “gun show loophole,” which allows some part-time gun sellers to operate without a federal license on the Internet, at flea markets and at gun shows and so avoid the requirement to collect background information from their customers.

Results of a survey conducted at the six Kansas universities in the Regents system shows that a strong majority of faculty and staff prefers to see the state gun law changed so that handguns are not allowed inside campus buildings.

A hefty 70 percent want to keep guns out of university buildings, and overall, most survey respondents indicated that allowing concealed carry on campus would make them feel less safe, according to survey results released last week.

No one likes to be called stupid, but that is precisely what the gun-grabbers do every time they tell us, “We’re not looking to take anyone’s guns.” We routinely hear it from the president and his hired liar Josh Earnest. We hear it from Hillary Clinton, Chuck Schumer, Michael Bloomberg, Chris Murphy and the rest of the country’s who’s-who of the movement to disarm law-abiding Americans..

Secrets are tough to keep around SHOT Show time, and we’re glad the expiration date is up on this one: Today, the Glock 17 and Glock 19 join the list of pistols offered in the MOS—Modular Optic System—configuration.

Not that we can blame the folks in Smyrna: If nothing else, it’s fun to have something new, or at least newish, to spring on industry friends and competitors alike. And we hope nobody is silly enough to think the folks at Glock didn’t know that their pseudo-secret was out, or at least deduced by many. Still, the forms must be observed.

The gun control movement's latest hobby horse is the smart gun. Kimberly Corban spoke at President Obama’s Town Hall on Guns. She told the president.

I survived rape. Now I’m a mom. Carrying a gun to protect me and my family is my responsibility. Your restrictions make it harder for me to buy a gun and carry it where I need to.

President Obama disagreed.

Kimberly knew she wouldn’t change the president’s mind, but she hoped the president would at least listen to her. I think the president lied at least six times in his answer to Misses Corban, I want to focus on one thing President Obama said.

He said you are safer without a gun. Let's look at the facts.
