The Trophy Bonded Tip bullet is used in a few Federal Premium Ammunition lines – the Trophy Bonded Bear Claw, Trophy Bonded Sledgehammer Solid, and the Trophy Copper. While each of these ammo lines differs slightly, there’s one thing they all have in common, and that’s the tip.
This bullet and its tip were created for one purpose – to take down large, thick-skinned animals (we’re talking African game). These bullets have great features that enable massive penetration and expansion, like a large and very accurate hollow point.

During an unannounced move, Tuscola County commissioners approved a resolution to be a “Constitutional Second Amendment Sanctuary County.” The Second Amendment sanctuary issue, which is also known as a “gun sanctuary,” is when a state or a county adopts laws or resolutions that prohibit or impede the enforcement of certain gun control measures perceived as a violation of the Second Amendment. |

Twice a year gun writer Dick Williams organizes a three-day theme shoot and I recently attended one of these events at Gunsite. The theme for this event was the handguns peace officers working on the Southern border used in the period of 1900–1917. The class would cover single- and double-action revolvers and semiautomatics from the time period (or modern variations) with a different platform used each day. |

Congress, of course, doesn’t just pass legislation. According to the Constitution of the United States, it carries several other crucial powers. These powers are useful for Second Amendment supporters to understand – after all, we never know when we might have need of their proper use to protect our rights. One of those powers, under Article I, is the impeachment of those holding offices in the executive branch and judicial branch. We’ve seen this happen twice in recent years.

Senate Judiciary B Committee will take up preemption legislation, Senate Bill 2107. Please contact committee members and ask them to SUPPORT SB 2107. Senate Bill 2107 enhances Mississippi’s preemption laws by adding state agencies to the list of entities that are prohibited from restricting the Second Amendment rights of Mississippi citizens. Preemption laws serve to prevent localities from enacting their own differing gun laws across the state. Further, SB 2107 will prohibit localities from restricting the possession, transfer, sale, transportation, storage, display, carry, or use of firearms during declared civil emergencies.

As January rolls around each year, so come new caliber announcements. Some are ho-hum, but others – like this one – garner serious attention from big game hunters. Winchester debuted their 6.8 Western chambering in conjunction with partner Browning’s launch of multiple bolt-action rifles ready to send these rounds after animals like Elk and Mule Deer. Both the Winchester Model 70 and XPR lines of bolt-action rifles are already being chambered for the zippy new round.

Some were offered in different calibers, but most focused on the tried-and-true 5.56. The baseline model was simply called SAINT. The next step up was called SAINT Victor, and the top-tier package was called SAINT Edge. |

The Second Amendment Foundation has filed a federal lawsuit against the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) alleging violations of the Administrative Procedures Act over what the gun rights organization calls ATF’s “flip-flop regulation of arm braces on semiautomatic pistols.”
An arm brace is a commonly-used accessory—more than 2 million are now in circulation, according to the 18-page SAF lawsuit—that helps shooters stabilize AR-15 pistols for one hand shooting. They were specifically developed to help disabled shooters fire such pistols.

The Heckler & Koch SP5 pistol is a semi-automatic-only version of the MP5—the go-to submachine gun for military and law enforcement special operations teams in the 1970s, ’80s and ’90s. No firearm bridges the gap between reality and fantasy quite like the Heckler & Koch MP5. In 1980, when SAS operators stormed the Iranian Embassy in London in front of a live television audience, MP5s topped with flashlights at the ready became front-page news.
