Since Capitol Security failed on January 6th, Speaker Nancy Pelosi began her latest attempt to ban Members of Congress from carrying firearms on Capitol Hill. Her proposals arguably violate Article I Section 6 of the Constitution as well as the Second and Twenty-Seventh Amendments.
If Nancy Pelosi will ransack any Article or Amendment to the Constitution to ban Members of Congress from exercising their constitutional rights, imagine how much worse she will treat the American people’s right to keep and bear arms! |

While Second Amendment supporters face significant challenges at the federal level, the states offer a wealth of chances to take the offensive, especially when it comes to two of the biggest threats faced to our freedoms. This chance should not be missed.
Even though Joe Biden was inaugurated, Second Amendment supporters are not helpless in the fight against corporate gun control and Silicon Valley censorship – and the reason is the control of both the state legislature and governor’s mansion in 24 states by Republicans, who are generally pro-Second Amendment, with several other states where anti-Second Amendment governor can be placed in a tough spot. |

A proposal to add a gun rights amendment to the state constitution is retracing its path through the Iowa legislature. The proposal has been approved twice before, but a paperwork error in the secretary of state’s office is forcing Republican legislators to pass it a third time before it can be presented to voters in 2022.
Richard Rogers of the Iowa Firearms Coalition says the amendment is needed because opponents of gun rights are trying to — in his words “weaponize” the FEDERAL courts. |

A Grand Traverse County commissioner drew immediate backlash after he displayed a rifle in response to a public commenter during a livestreamed public meeting.
Ron Clous was in his home during the Wednesday meeting and said he was responding to a Traverse City woman, Keli MacIntosh, during her public comment regarding a Second Amendment resolution passed by the board in March. MacIntosh questioned what she called the board’s support of the Proud Boys, and asked commission Chairman Rob Hentschel to make a statement denouncing the group. |

Carjackings have been on the rise in Chicago for more than a year. After a 135 percent jump in 2020, the trend is continuing with 61 carjackings reported in the first 10 days of 2021.
As city officials and police scramble to address the issue with meetings, City Council hearings and community alerts, some Chicagoans are taking matters into their own hands against the advice of law enforcement: They’re applying for concealed carry permits.
Kelly Milan, a Northwestern graduate student, was carjacked Friday morning in Hyde Park in front of William H. Ray Elementary School. |

We have learned that there is an individual who plans to build an outdoor gun range in our area (west of Celt Road).
We support the Second Amendment and our rights to bear arms. Our primary concern is that this is an outdoor firing range. Sounds from this will echo for miles.
Greene County should stand that there should be no outdoor gun ranges allowed in Greene County. |

Week two of the Legislature is complete. The process is smoothing out as everyone gets use to a COVID-19 session that is a combination of in person and digital.
This week, the most controversial bill I voted for was HB 102, which expands Montanans’ use of firearms for self-defense. Effectively, the bill allows law-abiding citizens to conceal carry anywhere they can now open carry. It also reduces some government mandated gun-free zones. |

It's no secret that the United States is experiencing what many are calling an ammo shortage. Ever since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic in early 2020, it seems like brick-and-mortar gun stores and online retailers can't keep the most popular self defense (or even hunting) cartridges in stock.
Even ammunition reloading components are tough to find. Small pistol primers might as well be unicorn teeth at the moment. Everything is on backorder and prices are high when ammo finally does come in. |

The National Rifle Association is in a double-barreled legal battle for its future, moving forward with its bankruptcy case while fighting accusations it only sought Chapter 11 protection to avoid a potentially crippling lawsuit.
Lawyers for the influential advocacy group told a federal judge Wednesday that the organization’s decision to declare bankruptcy, with plans to reincorporate in gun-friendly Texas, was not an attempt to dodge a lawsuit brought by the attorney general in New York, its current corporate home. |

Democrats are headed back to the White House, and Texas Republicans are gearing up to go back on offense.
For eight years under President Barack Obama, Texas was a conservative counterweight to a progressive administration, with its Republican leaders campaigning against liberal policies on immigration, the environment and health care and lobbing lawsuit after federal lawsuit challenging scores of Democratic initiatives. When Republicans could not block policies in Congress, they sometimes could in the courts. |
