A controversial gun show has returned to the Westchester County Center in White Plains to the delight of firearm admirers. For the show’s second day, the line to get out into the Westchester Gun Show stretched around the county center. Enthusiasts were happy to see the show back for the first time in five years. It was cancelled in the wake of the Sandy Hook school shootings.
Show organizer Newman Chittenden is grateful that County Executive Rob Astorino vetoed legislation that would have banned the show from county property.“There’s no reason really to turn us away, we’re not criminals,” he told WCBS 880’s John Metaxas. “I understand there’s some negative attitudes. We would like to overcome them.”

In Westchester County, some residents said controversial and offensive items were sold this past weekend at a gun show that is controversial unto itself. ... “It’s actually sickening,” said Stephanie Frankel, a New Rochelle resident and mother of two. ...
The Westchester Democratic Legislature said a member of its staff took these pictures, showing Nazi literature and items with the Confederate flag being sold by vendors.

SUBMITTER'S COMMENT: Nazi propaganda? The ones shown are history books on WWII, especially the Nazi (National Socialist) era. The Westchester Democrats are following in the Nazis' footsteps, using the media to "burn the books."

The Women’s March participants are so worried about the state of their rights, yet they advocate to take away a woman’s Second Amendment freedoms. NRATV commentator Dana Loesch took to “Stinchfield” to talk about how the pro-women protest was, instead, anti-women. “All of these chicks marching out in Washington, D.C., and everywhere, they actually support the taking of rights from women,” Loesch said. “They don’t support women who are going out and getting their concealed carry permits. They don’t support empowering women by supporting the training and licensing or simply the possession of a handgun by a female in the United States.”

LAS VEGAS -- The U.S. Army on Thursday awarded Sig Sauer a contract worth $580 million to make the next service pistol based on the company's P320 handgun.

The 10-year agreement calls for Sig to supply the Army with full-size and compact versions of the gun. The pistols can be outfitted with silencers and accommodate standard and extended capacity magazines. The firearms will be manufactured at the company's facilities in New Hampshire.

One of the major goals of the effort was to adopt a pistol chambered for a more potent round than the current 9mm.

In their statements, Army and Sig officials didn't specify what caliber the new Sig Sauer pistol will be.

 QUOTES TO REMEMBER
Of all tyrannies, a tyranny exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It may be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end, for they do so with the approval of their own conscience. — C. S. LEWIS
