The 300 AAC Blackout and 308 Winchester are both 30-caliber rifle cartridges that shoot a .308” diameter bullet. However, this is where the similarities end as both cartridges have a different intended purpose.

In this caliber comparison article, we are going to take a detailed look at both the 300 AAC Blackout and the 308 Winchester. Unlike previous articles, I won’t “crown a winner” because the difference between 308 vs 300 Blackout is comparing apples to oranges.

A stunning poll turnaround in Washington State could drive Seattle liberals nuts and possibly foretell a flip in state politics come November, which would be good news for beleaguered Evergreen State gun owners and taxpayers in general.

According to veteran pollster Stuart Elway, his poll earlier this month revealed “The percentage of respondents who identified as Republican had jumped 10 points since last July to close the gap with Democrats, from 18 percentage points to 7.”

In her Jan. 17 column, State Sen. Julie Slama said it is vital to pass legislation protecting the right to bear arms in Nebraska. The right is declared in national and state constitutions, but Slama says Constitutional Carry laws remove financial barriers. She says the right to bear arms is not the privilege of those who can afford it, but fees for concealed carry training and permits restrict the right from some who most need it.

The Yellowhammer State is not known for being a hotbed of anti-gun, radical leftist ideologies, but gun owners should be shocked by the recent statements of the Alabama Sheriffs Association’s Director, Robert Timmons. Timmons has recently doubled-down in his opposition to Constitutional Carry, and in doing so, he has revealed his revisionist views of the Second Amendment and the right to keep and bear arms. For example, he supports a would-be amendment to the U.S. Constitution to limit firearm possession to within one’s home.

Finally, in August 2020, Busse resigned from Kimber and became an environmental activist. In a speech at the Montana State Capitol, he warned that the gun industry “had built and fueled the same politics that eventually threatened” the wild place where he hunted.

Today Busse advises progressive organizations “with the aim of undoing the country’s dangerous radicalization.” Better than selling guns in an industry much of which has no principles except to make money.

Submitter's note: I'm tired of hearing about dangerous radicalization applied to supporters of the USA. The radicals are the BLM, antifa, most of the media and the dims that are attempting to tear down everything that made this country great.

A Georgia senator has set her sights on gun owners after filing new legislation. If passed, those looking to possess a firearm within the Peach State would have to pass certification or face possible prison time. Bill 344, filed by Sen. Sally Harrell (D - Atlanta), will ask state lawmakers to consider requiring several hours of firearm safety training for potential gun owners across Georgia.

Two rounds. Does it make a difference to you? If you’re plinking, probably not. If you’re in a competition, it might make a difference, but during a real-deal gunfight those extra two bits of bang could mean life or death. Fortunately, now you don’t have to give up the safety of full magazines in order to ease your loading drills.

A South Dakota senate committee will delay action on a bill to allow artificial light in night-hunting of coyotes and other critters — without a permit — on public lands, while the prime sponsor considers an amendment. Sen. Mike Rohl , R-Aberdeen, the prime sponsor of Senate Bill 73 , says such a measure would bring the state up-to-date with a number of other states that do allow artificial light, including night vision, to be used to hunt after sundown.

Something insidious is underfoot, a strategy so subtle it is likely going unnoticed in your own neighborhood, school district, small town, larger city and in your county. If you don’t wake up and pay attention, you may instead wake up some morning to discover you slept through a takeover of your community. Now is the time to stop it.

Unlike a lot of hunters, I didn’t start hunting until my 20’s. Not being raised in the sport presented me with a steep learning curve; one I think that a lot of adults who are hunting-curious might shy away from, especially if they’re trying to get into the sport on their own.
