We've heard BUTS for a while now. “I own a gun, BUT I think we need more laws to restrict our rights to own guns.” BUT nothing. Safe and responsible gun owners are not “BUTS…” Safe and responsible gun owners are educated and informed. They know what laws are already on the books. They know what the Constitution says. They also know their rights. |

Gun owners who fire their weapons for fun in Sacramento could face stiffer penalties under a proposal the Sacramento City Council is scheduled to consider Tuesday night.

Few firearm introductions have generated the buzz and demand of the Kel-Tec CNC Industries, Inc., PMR-30 pistol. That’s unsurprising, though, as a lightweight, .22 WMR-chambered, semi-automatic, full-size handgun utilizing a 30-round-capacity magazine is sure to be appreciated by a large segment of the shooting public. Smartly, the company has subsequently re-commissioned the efficacious delayed-blowback PMR-30 as the foundation for a carbine counterpart—enter the autoloading CMR-30. |

Tuesday morning’s apparent false alarm “active shooter” incident in San Diego underscored the new approach to how authorities, and maybe everyone else, should react if they are caught in the middle of a mass shooting, and the advice came from the Facebook page of the Naval Medical Center where the incident didn’t take place: “All occupants are advised to run, hide or fight.”

“We wanted this feeling of those empty chairs signified how many people would be lost to gun violence in the course of watching this movie,” said Katie Couric about her new documentary Under The Gun, which examines the battle between those who favor stricter gun laws and staunch Second Amendment supporters. The film marks the second time for Couric and Under The Gun director Stephanie Soechtig at Sundance; their previous title in Park City was the 2014 doc Fed Up, which focused on America’s obesity epidemic. |

QUOTES
TO REMEMBER |
Today the taxing power, rather than chattel slavery, is the instrument by which the parasitical element of the population subsists. And that element, which includes politicians, panics at the slightest reduction in the state's power to plunder. Once you start liberating taxpayers, even a little tiny bit, nobody knows where it may end. —Joseph Sobran |
