Not to be confused with the almost double-diameter pellets in the #4 buck, the #4 lead shot is a diverse ammunition used in a variety of applications – but is most commonly marketed for turkey hunting. Varmint control, target shooting, home defense and hunting birds of all shapes and sizes can easily be handled effectively with #4 lead shot. Its superior ballistics and tendency to penetrate deeper leads to easier kills, making it preferred over steel when hunting. |

Today, January 26th, House Bill 60 passed the Utah House with a minor amendment, by a vote of 54-19-2. The bill will now be transmitted to the Senate for further consideration. House Bill 60, sponsored by Representative Walt Brooks (R-75), allows a law-abiding adult to carry a concealed firearm in the State of Utah, without first needing to obtain government permission. This ensures that citizens have their right to self-defense without government red tape or delays. Additionally, this legislation maintains the existing Concealed Firearm Permit (CFP) system, so citizens who still wish to obtain a permit may do so. |

Tomorrow at 9:00am, the Senate Judiciary is expected to take Executive Action on Permitless Carry Legislation, House Bill 102. Please contact committee members and ask that they SUPPORT House Bill 102 with ONLY Rep. Berglee’s Amendment. House Bill 102 will strengthen Montana’s self-defense laws by allowing law-abiding Montana gun owners to carry a firearm for self-defense throughout the state without first having to obtain a government mandated permit to do so. Further, this bill will remove some of Montana’s “gun-free zones” from the list of prohibited places and stop the unnecessary disarming of Montanans as they go about their day-to-day lives. |

Due to a delay last week, the Senate Judiciary Committee is now scheduled to consider preemption legislation, Senate Bill 2107, tomorrow. Senate Bill 2107 enhances Mississippi’s preemption laws by adding state agencies to the list of entities that are prohibited from restricting the Second Amendment rights of Mississippi citizens. Preemption laws serve to prevent localities from enacting their own differing gun laws across the state. Further, SB 2107 will prohibit localities from restricting the possession, transfer, sale, transportation, storage, display, carry, or use of firearms during declared civil emergencies. |

Timothy “Big Tim” Daniel Sullivan (1862-1913) (right), a New York City politician, in 1911, pushed the Sullivan Act through the City’s legislature-an unconstitutional infringement on our rights. “I grew up at a time when people were not afraid of people with firearms. I used to travel on the subway from Queens to Manhattan with a rifle. Could you imagine doing that today in New York City?” So recalled U.S. Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia about his days as a schoolboy on a rifle team.

Gun control advocates are once again pushing the entertainment industry to produce anti-gun propaganda with the explicit goal of advancing failed firearm legislation. The renewed overt effort will strike some as superfluous, given Hollywood’s lengthy track record of anti-gun agitprop and left-wing political monoculture. |
