"We now should realize that our demands for facts, statistics, true feelings, etc. won't do the trick. We're going to have to lean hard, very hard on our reps and senators (especially our senators) and demand that they ignore the phony concerns voiced against any CCW bill and let's get it on the governor's desk! That is what he's afraid of."

"Two anti-gun bills have been introduced in the California Legislature. AB 50, sponsored by Assemblyman Paul Koretz (D-42), would restrict the sale and ownership of .50 Caliber BMG rifles. Although this is a retread of last year's bill that failed passage, Assemblyman Koretz is pinning his hopes on a batch of new legislators to give him the votes he needs to push AB 50 through the legislature."

"Also, anti-gun Senator Jack Scott (D-21) has introduced SB 35, a measure that would give the California Department of Justice the authority to establish and maintain a ballistic identification database. The fees incurred to administer the database would be passed onto the manufacturers, dealers, and consumers. Scott offers his proposal in spite of the fact that the California DOJ has already studied the idea of ballistic 'fingerprinting,' and the results indicate such a proposal is impractical and unreliable."

Americans pay nearly 50% of their yearly income in taxes. That is why we are not only constantly engaged in legislative battles, but in electoral contests as well. "In the past few years, migrants have faced a new danger: overzealous U.S. citizens—often carrying high-powered rifles, sporting homemade badges and wearing camouflage fatigues—have forcefully detained thousands of migrants before turning them over to border patrol agents. Chris Simcox, the founder of Civil Homeland Defense, one of several groups in the region focused on keeping out 'illegals,' insists that U.S. citizens have the right to guard the border." ...

"But human rights advocates suspect that vigilantes may be involved in a series of recent murders and attacks on migrants in desert areas between Tucson and Phoenix. Though the allegations remain unproven, there is a growing clamor for federal and state law enforcement officials to investigate the civilian militias and rein them in." ...

-------
Notice the vast amount of conjecture, speculation and wild accusations in this flimsy excuse for a story. Which human rights advocates have voiced suspicions of murder? Was there an investigation? Was anyone charged? Why bring up wild allegations without substantiating at least the party voicing the suspicion? Is this what passes for journalism these days?
