"The Second Amendment Foundation and National Rifle Association this week have won a preliminary injunction against the Washington State Department of Licensing that requires the state to resume processing applications by legal resident aliens for alien firearms licenses."

"The U.S. District Court for the Western District of Washington in Seattle also ordered that license renewals and applications sought by three individual Washington residents participating in the lawsuit also be processed. ... SAF and NRA said the state law discriminates against legal resident aliens who own firearms by violating their Second Amendment rights under the equal protections affirmed by the 14th Amendment." ...

Only three things you gotta worry about in the infantry. Your rifle and your two feet. -- Sgt. Rock, Fixed Bayonets!, 1951

. . . Fuller's movies crackle with realism and Fixed Bayonets! is no exception. Sgt. Rock's lecture about the three things you have to worry about in the infantry is one mundane truth. Throughout the movie there's a constant theme about the search for dry socks and the care of infantrymen's feet. Someone is always looking for dry socks, finding dry socks, scheming to steal dry socks from another man, or wondering what's going to happen when the owner of the dry socks discovers they have been stolen.

"Three little words many liberty enthusiast gun owners love to hear are Take Me Shooting. It is an experience which wraps several concepts into one depth of understanding. Most gun owners love to take someone to the shooting range for that one important reason: there is a whole new perspective which is not obvious to the layman. It becomes most obvious during the experience itself. More, it becomes an education. It may take most of a day in a little classroom time, a little question and answer session, and then firing the weapon in controlled circumstances." ...

"In Part I, I noted that first-time shooters first experience the power of the weapon the moment they fire it. A handgun is a very powerful device. I write about the power of the person in a nation of self-rule. Following this first experience, at various times for various people, there is a new experience; I wrote that the power of the person begins to coalesce in the mind of the first-time shooter, a sense of self again in a nation of self-rule. Something sets in; it is the realization that they have the power in their hands to refuse to be a victim, contrary to the lies of the anti-violence movement. Some want to take away that power to refuse to be a victim." ...
