When it comes to picking your next semi-automatic everyday carry (EDC) handgun, two calibers that you should consider are the .380 ACP (Automatic Colt Pistol) and the 9mm Luger (9x19mm NATO, 9mm Parabellum). Both cartridges fire the same 9mm (0.355”) diameter bullet, but the .380 ACP has a shorter overall case length and is, therefore, the more anemic round.

Not too long ago, I was the proud owner of the Wilson Combat 1911. It was previously owned by my late father, a passionate gun collector. It was one of the first guns my dad let me hold, which perhaps built that nostalgic connection I have with 1911s. While the original was certainly a classic, the Springfield 1911 Mil-Spec is a modern take on what is an otherwise historic handgun. This isn’t the only modern take on this classic, though I might add.

Constantine's gun for the event was a Zastava M85 SBR chambered in 5.56x45mm. Zastava also offers a similar 7.62x39mm model called the M70. The guns are manufactured in Serbia at the Zastava factory that was established 165 years ago. Being an SBR, or short-barreled rifle, Constantine put a Sig Sauer MCX stock on it and, as a big fan of red dots, he added a Trijicon SRO. Lastly, he added a sling and a Krebs Custom Mark VI Enhanced Safety. "It makes it a whole lot easier to operate with your index finger. It makes it buttery and smooth," he said. |

Can New York target out-of-state businesses that make or market guns with “public nuisance” lawsuits if those guns are used in a crime? We’re about to find out, as 14 gun makers and sellers have challenged the state law’s constitutionality in federal court. Albany passed the law in July, but it is part of a decades-long effort to make it too expensive for these companies to stay in business. Twenty years ago, as secretary of Housing and Urban Development, Andrew Cuomo characterized his anti-Second Amendment strategy as “death by a thousand cuts.” As New York Governor he signed the law before he resigned in disgrace amid multiple sexual harassment claims. |

In reviewing all 52 outdoor stories I wrote for 2021, I definitely saw a trend, and I’m actually quite proud of the message they delivered when viewed as a complete package. The picture painted was one of the beauty of our outdoors, along with the people who protect it, to those who excel in it and to those who make sure we don’t forget it.

Everyone who has embraced the idea of providing for their own protection has gone on a journey of self-discovery before arriving at the decision to carry a firearm. This isn’t a decision to take casually. Carrying a firearm for self-defense, after all, isn’t just empowering, it is also a great responsibility. People who take on this burden need to be safe, mature and vigilant—and they are. Again and again, studies on people who have concealed-carry permits indicate that armed citizens in America are safe, law-abiding people. |

I recently finished testing an Anderson Mfg. Am-15, M-LOK 5.56. I personalized it with a few after market parts but nothing that really enhanced the shooting abilities other than installing a Bowden Tactical trigger. So this Product Review will cover what the Anderson Mfg. AM-15, M-LOK 5.56 can basically do right out of the box. |

A state law passed early in 2021 regarding federal gun laws now has related policy guidelines. House Bill 2694 stipulates that state gun laws will trump federal gun laws and no West Virginia law enforcement agency on any level “shall participate in enforcement efforts focused on federal gun control measures when those laws conflict with state laws regarding firearms.” |

First off, the CZ Parrot gets its name because of its colors. Almost every component of the Parrot is a different anodized color. From the gold and yellow grips to the blue C-More mount, it is an eye-catching gun to even the most conservative of gun enthusiasts. Everything about this gun is just plain cool. Built for speed, this race gun is ultimately a CZ Czechmate. |
