ATF will neither confirm nor deny the existence of any records related to Hunter Biden’s reported gun purchase because public interest is outweighed by his privacy interests, the Bureau asserted in a Motion for Summary Judgment filed Friday in the United States District Court for the District of Columbia. That information, ATF argues, is protected by Freedom of Information Act exemptions, and therefore Judge Rudolph Conteras should grant its motion and order the case dismissed.

If your trigger finger gets that tingly sensation when you hear the words, “Magnum, full power, and strong recoil” then the 10mm Auto and 357 Magnum might be the right cartridges for your next handgun purchase.
Both centerfire handgun cartridges understand what the term “magnum” means and really pack on the kinetic energy, muzzle velocity, and felt recoil.

Even the most fashion-illiterate person would note Tracey Crane knows how to dress with flair and glamour — even on an off day in her office, where she is sitting dressed in a cream cashmere sweater dress with tapered puff sleeves highlighted with navy pinstripes. It is both a stark contrast from the attire she donned for her first big game hunt less than two years ago and a reminder of the old adage never to judge a book by its cover.

Late winter and early spring is a popular time for "shed hunting." It's estimated that some 20,000 people head out into Utah's outdoors in the late winter and early spring every year to collect antlers that big game animals shed before they grow another set of antlers later in the year. Wildlife experts describe it as a mix of a winter hike and a treasure hunt wrapped into one.

When threatened by an aggressor outside their homes, people in New York, under current law, have a duty to retreat — if possible — before resorting to force. Now, an upstate lawmaker, state Sen. George Borrello, R-Chautauqua County, has introduced a measure that would scrap the duty to retreat requirement, framing his proposal as a public safety measure that will extend the right of self-defense and provide potential legal immunity in civil lawsuits against people who shoot those threatening to do harm.

Few have seen—much less shot—a shotgun chambered for the cute little 2" shell. With the increased interest in side-by-side shotguns, some of these little guns are coming to the surface again. In the 1920s, when world economies were whirling along and British gunmakers were searching for “something new,” it was the 12 ga., 2", loaded with 7/8 ozs. of shot, just like the 20 gauge. In fact, these shotguns were advertised as being a 20 in 12-ga. clothes. Shotguns made for this squat little cartridge are feather-light, yet balance, handle and swing wonderfully; like a full-fledged 12.

About 5.4 million people became first-time gun buyers last year—or roughly 30% of all firearms purchased were bought by first-time gun owners, according to new survey results released by the National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF). While this number alone is noteworthy, it’s not the only one. Of the more than five million new gun owners, more than one third were women and nearly half signed up for training. |

Despite ballistically superior rimfires hitting the market each year, the .22 WMR cartridge not only hangs on, but continues to thrive as every year manufacturers introduce new firearms chambered in this magnum rimfire. For instance, Henry Repeating Arms’ Magnum Express, which I was able to put through its paces not too long ago. The gun was accurate, reliable and surprisingly powerful which lends itself to a variety of uses from target work to self-defense. |

The August shooting death of an Albuquerque 13-year-old by one of his schoolmates has prompted a bill before the Legislature aimed at holding gun owners accountable if their weapons fall into the hands of children. The Bennie Hargrove Gun Safety Act, named after the student killed in the shooting at his downtown Albuquerque school, would make it illegal for a gun owner to allow a minor unauthorized access to their weapon. |
