It was the second week of Ramadan and Ziad Abu Naim was fasting. He was about to head to the mosque for Friday prayers when his wife, Lisa Aimone, decided she’d go with him. She and Abu Naim were “attached at the hip,” she said, even after eight years of marriage. Republican presidential candidate Jeb Bush was never an NRA "statesman of the year" recipient. The former governor of Florida had "mistaken and conflated" the claim, his campaign spokesman told BuzzFeed News on Monday. As evidence of his firm support for Second Amendment rights, Bush has, on multiple occasions, shared a story about how then-NRA president Charlton Heston bestowed a rifle and a “statesman of the year” award on him in 2003. However, with a little old-fashioned sleuthing, BuzzFeed News found the NRA does not appear to have a "statesman of the year" award. |

"More and more women are coming in to take the class," said Shumpert, certified to teach CPL classes in Michigan. "They want their independence. They want to be able to protect themselves." Now, about 60 percent of the students are women, he said.
The trend of more women purchasing firearms is continuing to grow in Genesee County. |

While some may recover completely, for many the repercussions are lifelong, with chronic pain, neurologic problems, and psychological issues. It’s an unpredictable illness, striking both young and old. While there are risk factors for being affected, many of those who die seem to merely have had bad luck. |
