“Will Mitch McConnell get re-elected to the Senate?” International Business Times asked Monday. “Kentucky Republican poll numbers are dismal ahead of 2020.” This comes on the heels of Kentucky voters turning out GOP Governor Matt Bevin for Democrat Andy Beshear by a slim 5,100 vote margin. Insufferable “former Republican” Joe Scarborough, carrying water for the Democrats as is his media mission, gleefully blamed it on President Trump. That’s a meme the left wants the Republicans to be dumb enough to believe—that if they want to win, they need to abandon their core constituencies and turn to the left.

As if Virginia Gov. Ralph Northam’s wholesale attack on law-abiding gun owners wasn’t enough, the disgraced public official and his Michael Bloomberg-bought allies in the General Assembly now want the state’s hard-working taxpayers to foot the bill for their unconstitutional schemes. The budget bill (HB30) includes an appropriation of a quarter-million dollars to carry out a host of gun control measures that Northam and his anti-gun allies hope to enact.

You can always learn more about the deer that inhabit your favorite haunts, especially with a good tracking snow. Trail cameras also give you an idea which bucks made it through the season, and even if you didn’t bag that big boy on your hit list, there’s still a chance to take home some treasure.

Charles Parker is one of those quintessential “American Dream” stories whose business success was forged during the War Between the States and America’s subsequent western expansion. It’s a rags-to-riches tale that combined ingenuity, hard work, and determination to create a multi-generational, family-owned business known for both introducing small-bore shotguns and producing collector pieces. His firearms were so inspiring that nearly 90 years since the company was sold, and over 75 years since a gun has been crafted with the Parker name, these high-quality guns are still sought out among collectors and the Parker Brothers name is considered a classic among gun enthusiasts. |

"How does concealed-carry training differ for women?” As a firearms trainer at Gunsite Academy, when I was asked this question, the usual topics sprang to mind: Should we adapt our clothing to firearms or is it the other way around? Should we choose handguns that are best suited for us smaller folk? Should we carry in a purse (on-body carry is always better, but there are times…)? |

Boyd County Fiscal Court will meet next week to likely become the latest Second Amendment sanctuary county in Kentucky, a grassroots movement that is building steam in response to state gun control laws. If Boyd County votes to become a sanctuary county it would be one of about a half dozen with more than three dozen others lined up for a hearing to consider making a resolution. Cumberland, Letcher, Hancock, Lewis, Knott and Harlan. |

The Nelson County Sheriff announced Friday that he will support a resolution to make the county a Second Amendment sanctuary. "I am pro Second Amendment. You won't find many in the law enforcement profession that are not," Sheriff Ramon Pineiroa said in a statement. "To me, the resolution is a restatement of the Second Amendment. It references previous Supreme Court rulings regarding our right to bear arms and the Due Process Clause of the 14th amendment. It expresses concern and opposition to any laws that may infringe or unconstitutionally restrict citizens' rights to keep and bear arms." |

Pike County may be taking part in what has been described as an “ever-expanding” movement, as a resolution is being planned, which would possibly declare Pike County a “Second Amendment Sanctuary” or “constitutional county.” According to an online petition created by Kentucky 2nd Amendment Coalition Chair Roger Ford, which, as of presstime, has more than 1,200 signatures, the resolution would affirm the United States Constitution and Bill of Rights, and more specifically the Second Amendment of the Bill of Rights, as the “supreme law” of the land. |
