"The 18-year-old student who stormed into his Colorado school last month with a shotgun and a bandolier of bullets across his chest, fatally shooting a classmate and setting fire to the library, provided fresh ammunition for one lawmaker's bill that would allow teachers to carry guns in schools."
"The Dec. 13 incident struck a chord with Republican state Sen. Ted Harvey, whose own son attends the school, in Centennial. Harvey, whose wife is a schoolteacher, said armed teachers at Arapahoe High School might have been able to act even more quickly than the two staff members being hailed as heroes after running toward the library, where James Pierson, 18, had gunned down Claire Davis and ignited a Molotov cocktail." ... |

... "According to an analysis this morning from Townhall’s Michael Schaus, anti-gun liberals have only themselves to blame for rising gun sales. When they call for 'confiscation, registration and regulation,' the public rushes to the retail counter."
"Add to that the data showing fewer police gun deaths and lower homicides overall ... and it raises questions about the gun prohibition lobby’s overall credibility. All of the bloodbath scenarios foretold and repeated ad nauseum by gun control proponents over the years ... have come to nothing. Crime has declined while gun ownership has climbed, along with the number of citizens obtaining concealed carry licenses and permits nationwide." ... |

... "Sen. Graham's questions are good ones ... but perhaps a bit less than complete. One that springs to mind right away is what, exactly, is meant by 'may be used in a handgun'? If, after all, that encompasses every cartridge for which someone, somewhere, has chambered a handgun, one would be hard pressed to find a cartridge that has not been fired from a handgun--that includes the mighty (and mightily hated by the gun prohibition lobby) .50 BMG."
"For that matter, with the popularity of the Taurus 'Judge,' and Smith and Wesson 'Governor' revolvers, chambered for the .410 shotshell, would .410 shells with 'Hevi-Shot' or other tungsten alloy pellets (like a .410 version of these 'Dead Coyote' shells) be a federal crime?" ... |

"Way back in 2013 I picked up a couple of parts from Gear Head Works for my TAVOR. The TMF, or Tavor Modular Forearm, was definitely something I’d wanted. I loved the idea of integrally mounting a flashlight instead of slapping it on a rail somewhere. The FLEx, or Fulcrum Located Extra swivel, had less appeal to me and I wasn’t going to buy it until Paul, owner of GHW, convinced me that I would definitely notice a difference in gas blowback to the face even if I wasn’t planning on using it as a sling attachment point. But there’s something to be said for the original, the 1911A1, and for those looking to own a modern manufactured version of that historic handgun, Springfield offers their 1911A1 GI model that can be bought for less than the price of a GLOCK 19.
