"If you’ve ever seen an episode of Frontline, you couldn’t have been terribly surprised by last night’s NRA expose, subtly titled ‘Gunned Down: The Power of the NRA’. The NRA’s real sin, according to the program’s slant, is that it’s just too good at protecting gun rights. Too effective at countering the best efforts of Congress, victims groups and the civilian disarmament industrial complex. In case you missed it . . ." ... |

"The civilian disarmament industrial complex has adopted the phrase 'common sense' to describe any gun control law which they favor. Which is any gun control law. In other words, the antis consider all gun control laws a matter of 'common sense.' This bit of misdirection masks the utter inanity of the antis’ declaration that 'I support the Second Amendment but I also support common sense gun control.' As Admiral Ackbar opined, it’s a trap! If you want proof, well, here it is, in a huffingtonpost.com article entitled Common Sense Gun Laws: There Are No Drive-By Knifings . . ." ... |

"The ATF simultaneously is and is not the most idiotic and useless appendage of the federal government. There are some good people within the ATF that genuinely understand the law and are working towards making things better, and then there’s B. Todd Jones. The ATF recently released a circular attempting to make it more difficult to produce firearms from 80% lower receivers (expertly analyzed here), but Ares Armor sees things differently. The shop that was famously raided by the ATF for producing illegal receivers sees the letter as vindication that they are in the clear, and sent a note to the ATF illustrated with crayon pictures in the hopes that they will be able to understand if presented in that medium . . ." ... |

"Ten-year-old 3-gun competitor Shyanne Roberts hails from New Jersey and may just be one of the youngest Second Amendment activists in the shooting community. Throughout the past few years, she’s made appearances pro-Second Amendment outlets such as on Gun For Hire Radio, the NRA’s Cam & Co, and NRA News. She’s also gained attention in national mainstream media, in which she has been shown as a positive example of shooting sports and youth in America ... I recently had the chance to meet this energetic, intelligent, and thoughtful Second Amendment activist at the Brownells Lady 3-Gun Pro-Am competition in Georgia. Here’s what Shyanne had to say about why she loves competitive shooting, and her thoughts on the future." ... |

"A couple years ago, when a 25-year-old law student in Texas said he was going to 3D-print a gun, nobody took him seriously. Then, he actually did it. And then, a lot of people started doing it. ... This is scary stuff, and it's going to get worse."
"The 3D-printed gun debate is a frustrating one for peace-loving Americans. On one hand, it really does feel like it should be illegal to plug in a machine, wait a few hours, and then get a plastic however durable gun that can possibly slip through metal detectors. Guns are dangerous. They kill people. Surely, there should be some sort of oversight."

"Lawmakers on both sides of the aisle, but particularly on the Republican side, reflexively bow to demands by the National Rifle Association, which lately has been peddling the notion that the way to cut down on gun violence is not to reduce the number of guns on our streets, but to arm everyone to the teeth. The advocacy group’s multi-page gun-control campaign was scrubbed from the home page and buried in a menu that doesn’t even mention firearms (click on the 'Learn' dropdown menu heading). "To review, the Fifth Amendment to the United States Constitution mandates that 'No person shall . . . be deprived of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law.' In other words, the government can’t kill you, imprison you or take your stuff without giving you a chance to defend yourself against criminal charges in a court of law. So how does that square with California’s Gun Violence Restraining Order law? It doesn’t. A judge can order the police to confiscate your guns and computers and prohibit you from buying, bearing or possessing firearms, then give you a chance to defend yourself against domestic abuse charges (within 21 days).
