Under the plan, civil fines up to $75 could be meted out to owners of vehicles photographed running red lights. The owners would be liable for the fine even if they were not in the car when it went through a red light."

Anti-self-defense fanatics at the Brady Campaign to Eradicate Gun Ownership came out with their "report cards" for states again. From a liberty advocate's point of view, a Brady "F" is actually, generally speaking, an "A". Noteworthy is the fact that nearly all of Brady's "A" grades land on places that have high violent crime rates and bans on self-defense. That tells us plenty about these disturbed people and their true agenda.

Take a look at the agenda -- breaking the oath so soon! Agenda includes:
S. 22 The Justice Enhancement and Domestic Security Act reintroduce gun control initiatives sponsored by Sen. Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.) in the 107th Congress, including forbidding private sales of more than one firearm - even between family members - without the recipient undergoing a federal registration/background check. The proposal includes funding for so-called "ballistic fingerprinting" initiatives for gun registration that were dismissed as unreliable by many law enforcement experts last year.

"Publication has been halted on a disputed book about the history of guns in the United States."

"Questions about Michael Bellesiles' 'Arming America' had already led Columbia University to rescind the prestigious Bancroft Prize for history."

"When Columbia made the announcement last month, publisher Alfred A. Knopf said the book would remain in print. But Jane Garrett, Bellesiles' editor, told The Associated Press on Tuesday that the publisher would no longer sell it." ...

They probably don't want any more contenders for a class action lawsuit over fraud and willful distortion of fact; thousands of buyers of Mr. Bellesiles' fantasy novel could band together and force a buyback, at the very least. "Millions of Canadians were reminded recently that being proved right is not necessarily a good thing. This particular lesson came in last month's startling revelations from the federal Auditor-General that the Liberals' controversial gun registry doesn't work as advertised and, despite repeated assurances to the contrary, will cost taxpayers at least $1-billion."

"Perhaps most galling about all of this is that so many people, especially in rural Canada, specifically predicted these exact results. For that we were scorned, ridiculed and branded as "gun nut" reactionaries indifferent to public safety. Time and time again, when citizens and opposition or provincial politicians protested that public safety came from legislation and enforcement that targeted people who used guns to break the law rather than people who possessed them in compliance with the law, we were ignored." ...

... "I've been told by different federal officials that the costs of the gun registry would be: zero (self-sustaining), $1-million, $10-million, $86-million, $100-million. Seems about the only thing they got right was the trend of ever-escalating cost." ...
