"It's never been done before. The U.S. Constitution has NEVER been read on the floor of the Congress."
"And to no one's surprise, the voting records of most Congressmen demonstrate they've never read the document for themselves!"
"So as you know, GOA initiated a campaign early last month to require the incoming Congress to read the Constitution. And our effort paid off yesterday when the House of Representatives read the Constitution on the floor of that chamber. This was quite a historic event." ... |

He lives across the river from the District of Criminals and has, shall we say, considerable ground-level experience in explaining American foreign policy to the violent and wayward across the planet."
"He informs me that his sources tell him that the White House is now fully briefed on the 'Walking Gun-gate' scandal and is now calling the shots. 'They are in desperate need of a cover-up, but aren't competent enough to arrange one,' he said with a laugh. 'They don't know whether to shit or go blind.'" ... |

CAUTION: Strong language
"Earlier today, respected author and TTAG commentator Dan Baum took me to task for suggesting that average folk ought to make their house more of a bunker and less of a target. 'Alarms, vault doors, exterior lighting….Where do you live? Beirut? Nothing in here about what to do if a meteorite hits your house, which is about as statistically likely as a home invasion.' The standard answer to this objection: 'If you believe that, why do you wear a seat belt?' The rabbi’s response: 'Sheep.' My slightly more loquacious reply: 'Shit happens.' For example, consider the internal lock failure on my Performance Center Smith & Wesson 686 . . ." ... |

Senate confirmation hearings would give Senators the opportunity to ask all kinds of uncomfortable questions, which would have to be answered under oath (not that 'under oath' is much of a guarantee of integrity, when dealing with the BATFE)."
