"The Buckeye Firearms Association -- a grassroots organization of activist gun owners in Ohio -- has been recognized as the 'Grassroots Organization of the Year' for 2007 by the Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms."
"The award was presented by CCRKBA Chairman Alan Gottlieb during the 21st annual Gun Rights Policy Conference, held at the Drawbridge Inn and Convention Center in Ft. Mitchell, KY across the Ohio River from Cincinnati."
"'We give this annual award in recognition of tireless hard work and dedication to the preservation of the individual right to keep and bear arms,' Gottlieb said, 'and the Buckeye Firearms Association has certainly lived up to that standard.'" ... |

"Large numbers of people in this country believe that eliminating guns would make things safer. Belief is an amazing thing."
"It lets liberal judges in New York allow lawsuits against gun manufacturers because some thug used their product to kill someone else. Under this belief system, it’s just a matter of time before Toyota gets sued because a drunk driver used one of their trucks to kill someone. The same people also believed there would be blood in the streets each time a state passed concealed carry laws. The reality is, each and every time, murder and crime decreased faster in those states than anywhere else (google John Lott, whose studies have been reluctantly verified by some gun control advocates)." ... |

"The now defunct National Association of Stocking Gun Dealers (NASGD) was truly instrumental in the ATF's crusade to shut down Federal Firearms License Dealers. Speaking before Congress to condemn 'kitchen table dealers' on behalf of the BATFE, NASGD President Bill Bridgewater clashed with the NRA and other gun organizations. This group appealed to many gun shops who felt threatened by these individuals who had an FFL. Fees were raised, distributors stopped selling to FFL's that did not have a storefront, City and County permits were then required, Licenses were just not even renewed."
"Now some dealers are shocked that the ATF has now turned their sights on them. ..." -------

"Reading about Jay Wallace with Adventure Outdoors, who is fighting back, is an inspiration that someone isn't just rolling over. You will remember the Virginia Citizens Defense League who had helped dealers fight back. Bloombergs response to those who fight back? 'These are sick people' Mikey, Mikey, Mikey; again I am no therapist but fighting for your rights is not sick, destroying someones life and business for your own political gain...now that is sick." ... -------

Even a patriotic centerpiece! And for those who want to strike a blow for freedom while remaining observant, JPFO offers a Kosher sugar cookie recipe."
"To parents and teachers who would argue that teaching schoolchildren to put handguns in their mouths--tasty or otherwise--isn't the best idea, the JPFO has a response that they can only hope will soon be chanted over jump ropes and jungle gyms in schoolyards across our country: 'Put the gun-haters on the run with your Goody Gun!'" |

"Another school year has started. Kids settle back into a structured routine, bus drivers renew early morning coffee friendships, young athletes take to sports fields and millions of parents once again rely on security arrangements that amount to rubbing a rabbit’s foot. It was an especially surreal experience for me, as I walked into the brand new school building on dedication day, past dozens of brand new 'no guns' stickers, and noted that both my kids’ classrooms were right next to exit doors. Sadly, my first thought was to remember to tell my kids that if they hear gunfire, they are to run for the exit door rather than let the teacher lock them down as ready-made hostages." ... |

The teacher also tells the reporter that she is exercising the Second Amendment[sic], which is the right to bear arms, as well as to protect her students. Does anyone see something wrong with this picture?"
"It is true that the Second Amendment of the United States Constitution allows rights for people to carry weapons. ... If this teacher is allowed to bring guns to school, wouldn't it influent[sic] kids to bear weapons too? ... Yet, a high school teacher might be permitted to have a gun in school. "...Let our condition, too, at that time be duly considered. Without arms, without money of effect, without a regular soldier in the State, or a regular officer, except Steuben, a militia scattered over the country, and called at a moment’s warning to leave their families and firesides, in the dead of winter . . . Yet had time been given them by the hasty retreat of that enemy, I have no doubt but the rush to arms, and to the protection of their country, would have been as rapid and universal as in the invasion during our late war, when, at the first moment of notice, our citizens rose in mass, from every part of the State, and without waiting to be marshalled by their officers, armed themselves..." |

"One which avails itself of foreigners immediately has to fear not only its citizens, but the foreigners that it enlists; and, remembering what I told you a short while ago of Francesco Sforza, (you will see that) that fear ought to exist. One which employs its own arms, has not other fear except of its own Citizens. But of all the reasons which can be given, I want this one to serve me, that no one ever established any Republic or Kingdom who did not think that it should be defended by those who lived there with arms: and if the Venetians had been as wise in this as in their other institutions, they would have created a new world Kingdom; but who so much more merit censure, because they had been the first who were armed by their founders." |
