We usually spend a great deal of time talking about the impact on the Second Amendment made at the federal and state level. But it is important to remember that attacks on our right to keep and bear arms are often made at the local level, and we don’t want these affronts to freedom to slip under anyone’s radar. Statewide preemption statutes that reserve the authority to enact gun-control laws to state legislatures are critical to diminishing these efforts. They help to avoid a patchwork of conflicting laws and regulations throughout a state. |

A youth basketball coach was stabbed to death on a New York City subway Thursday night, the seventh murder victim on the subway system in gun-controlled NYC this year. The New York Daily News reported 36-year-old Charles Moore was attacked around 10:30 p.m. while exiting the “northbound No. 4 train at the elevated station at E. 176th St. and Jerome Ave.”

Christensen Arms launched its Quest long-distance marksmanship school in June 2021, and it took only a few scattered mentions on social media and word of mouth for classes to fill. The company expanded sessions this year to seven, each booked fully, and it plans on holding a total of nine next year to meet the today’s growing long-distance trend. |

Two people were shot outside the home of Rep. Lee Zeldin (R-NY) Sunday, according to officials. Zeldin's two 16-year-old daughters Mikayla and Arianna were home at the time of the shooting, with the representative and his wife Diana traveling by car following a Columbus Day Parade. Investigators on the scene do not believe the Zeldin family was the target of the shooting.
