Elmer Keith, Bill Jordan and Skeeter Skelton – three icons of the firearms industry – designed the .41 Remington Magnum cartridge and introduced it to the shooting public in April of 1964. The ammunition came with two distinct loads: one for law enforcement (those that the cartridge had originally been designed for) and one for hunting. |

The NRA has been America’s firearm safety, education and training leader and No. 1 defender of the Second Amendment for 150 years, but did you know it also is the nation’s linchpin in shooting range development? Powered by your NRA membership dollars, the NRA is America’s authority in helping states not only to build more shooting ranges, but also in helping communities secure the funding to do so. |

As the Supreme Court of the United States prepares for oral arguments in what could result in another landmark Second Amendment ruling further defining and potentially expanding on the fundamental, individual right to keep and bear arms, watch for an increasing number of analysis pieces which may, or may not, offer subtle or not-so-subtle arguments about what the Amendment allows, and what it does not. |

I recently read an article on AmmoLand News titled, “Senator Hyde-Smith Vows To Oppose Gun Control Hidden In Violence Against Women Act” which has me greatly concerned. As you know, the pursuits of the anti-liberty-minded among us are relentless, and they never forget their errand. I have admiration for their perseverance. However, that is usually where my fondness ceases. In this case, a myriad of assaults against liberty are contained within the Violence Against Women Act Reauthorization Act of 2021. Pesky things like due process and the truth be damned, apparently? |

There's a lot of choices out there when considering big game hunting guns, but a moose rifle really needs to focus on a few particular things. First and foremost, is it chambered in a round that can handle moose, both from a distance and at close range? As long as you've got that knock down power in an ammunition type you have confidence in, then you've got a good starting point. |

The .32 Hand Ejector I-frame (Model of 1903 shown) was a belt gun. Though the subsequent J-frames like the Model 31-1 could also be belt guns, the real impact of J-frames has been as small, concealable revolvers like the ultra-modern Model 360PD. As I write this, I’m dog-sitting for friends at their house in the remote New England woods. It’s serene and quiet, off the beaten path and unless I’m planning on running an errand into town on any given day, there’s not a lot of incentive to change out of sweatpants and house slippers. |

We start with this news story from Port Arthur, Texas as reported by local radio station KJAS broadcasting from Jasper, Texas. You’re glad to be standing in line. The local fast-food chicken restaurant now lets customers order at the counter so you don’t have to slowly work your way through the line at the drive-through window. You’re waiting for your order just before 9 at night. Two men come inside and push to the front of the line. They are wearing masks. They also have guns in their hands. They wave their guns at the kids behind the counter and the customers in the store. |

Sometimes, a comment on an unrelated issue can be a major warning about a danger to our Second Amendment rights. The recent comments by Terry McAuliffe about parental involvement in schools is one such comment. Schools have had the attention of Second Amendment supporters in the context of preventing school shootings for a long time. |

California is adding a secretive but growing class of weapons to those that can legally be seized under gun violence restraining orders. What also is known as a “red flag” law allows police along with family members, colleagues, employers and teachers to ask judges to take firearms from those they fear are a possible threat to themselves or others. |

They just handed a bag of ammo or lead us to the car and gave us whatever it was that they had brought to us, and we thanked them and they were on their way,” said Saginaw City Councilwoman, Annie Boensch. Turned in-- no questions asked. At least 28 weapons, now in the hands of Saginaw Police. |

QUOTES
TO REMEMBER |
"Some people think that the Second Amendment is an outdated relic of an earlier time. Doubtless some also think that constitutional protections of other rights are outdated relics of earlier times. We The People own those rights regardless, unless and until We The People repeal them. For those who believe it to be outdated, the Second Amendment provides a good test of whether their allegiance is really to the Constitution of the United States, or only to their preferences in public policies and audiences. The Constitution is law, not vague aspirations, and we are obligated to protect, defend, and apply it. If the Second Amendment were truly an outdated relic, the Constitution provides a method for repeal. The Constitution does not furnish the federal courts with an eraser." --9th Circuit Court Judge Andrew Kleinfeld, dissenting opinion in which the court refused to rehear the case while citing deeply flawed anti-Second Amendment nonsense (Nordyke v. King; opinion filed April 5, 2004) |
