While our federal case to overturn the clearly unconstitutional Measure 114 continues to plod slowly through the 9th Circuit (a court determined to eliminate 2nd Amendment rights) the state lawsuit is moving ahead.
As soon as an Oregon Judge in Harney County declared the measure to be a fundamental violation of the Constitution, the state filed an appeal.
The Oregon political regime is working overtime, with your money, to end the sale of firearms. That is what Measure 114 does and all the lies told by its supporters and the cartel media echo chamber will not change that. |

On the night of the shooting, Johnson stepped into a dispute between Chaplin and a store clerk at a Hardwick convenience store, court documents show, and Johnson forced Chaplin out of the store. The disagreement began when the clerk told Chaplin he was too drunk to buy more alcohol.
Later that night, Chaplin showed up at Johnson’s home in Greensboro, which he’d threatened to do following the convenience store incident, according to court documents. Johnson shot Chaplin during the confrontation that ensued outside Johnson’s home.

Guns claimed the lives of 830 Wisconsin residents in 2022, including 529 firearm suicides and 277 firearm homicides. In 2022, guns were used in 57.3% (529 of 924) of suicides and 84.7% (277 of 327) of homicides. For both suicides and homicides, the majority of victims were male. While the state’s overall suicide and firearm suicide rates were similar to national rates, both its homicide and firearm homicide rates were lower than national rates. |

The amount the average American knows about the second amendment varies all the way from “clueless citizen” to a “constitutional expert” and everything in between. Both those are the two extreme levels.
Few Americans are completely clueless about the Second Amendment, and few are considered “experts." It is fair to assume that most Americans are somewhat familiar with the Second Amendment and understand how it, and the constitution as a whole, is critical to Democracy and the American way of life. |

Once the residence was cleared, an adult male was found dead inside. 29-year-old Reginald Hannah was identified as the deceased. The coroner was called to the scene and detectives took over the investigation.
Around 11:40 a.m., JPD’s Sally Smith told NEA Report that the incident was a “domestic situation” and that the authorities were not looking for a suspect.
An involved party, a female, was mentioned by police but it wasn’t clear if she would face charges, as the case was still under investigation.
It appeared to potentially be a case of self-defense, based on police updates. An update Friday, October 11, from JPD also indicated this. |

Vice President Kamala Harris’ comments about owning a “Glock” are proving to be, more than just a short-lived embarrassment, a microcosm of the problem plaguing her candidacy. Like other failed campaigns before, Harris’ camp seems to believe the public can be hoodwinked with prepared lines and ads and images that are at odds with the candidate’s record and identity.
“Tim Walz and I are both gun owners,” Harris said on stage in Philadelphia last month during her debate with Donald Trump. “We’re not taking anybody’s guns away.” |

Michigan and Hawaii recently advanced tip lines aimed at preventing gun crime, but Second Amendment proponents warn these initiatives could be weaponized against law abiding citizens.
On Thursday, Democratic Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer signed into law an education funding bill – except it allocated money to establish an anonymous tip line for students to report improper storage of firearms, according to House Bill (HB) 5503. |

Tech mogul Elon Musk, appearing alongside former President Trump at his rally in Butler, Pa., railed against Democrats, claiming the party wanted to take away basic rights from citizens.
Democrats want to “take away your freedom of speech, they want to take away your right to bear arms, they want to take away your right to vote, effectively,” Musk, the owner of X and Tesla, said at the rally, held at the same site where an assassin tried to kill Trump on July 13.
The remarks were some of the most political yet by Musk, who has taken an out-sized role in this presidential election as he has tied himself closely to Trump. |

Leaning heavily on the second Bruen standard—the ability to show a historical precedent—a district court in New York on Thursday permanently enjoined the state’s law banning guns on private property open to the public without express consent of the owner.
In the case Christian v. James, U.S. District Judge John. L. Sinatra of the U.S. District Court for the Western District of New York wrote in the ruling that the state’s arguments concerning past “similar” laws weren’t convincing enough.

The Texas senator has spearheaded — along with other far-right Congress members like Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene — an amicus brief, or friend-of-the-court filing, that reads more a friend-of-the-gun-industry beef. It insists that preserving gun profits is essential to safeguarding the Second Amendment. How so? Because “it would be impossible to exercise that right if a citizen could not lawfully purchase a firearm because the firearm industry had become insolvent.” In other words, Cruz is arguing, if this lawsuit were to drive the gun industry’s bad actors out of business, there wouldn’t be any gunmakers left.

A federal district court has struck down part of a New York law that made it illegal to carry a firearm on private property without consent from the owner.
The ruling issued by the U.S. District Court John Sinatra, Jr. effectively blocks the state from enforcing its concealed carry restrictions, saying it interferes "with the long-established Second Amendment rights of law-abiding citizens who seek to carry for self-defense on private property open to the public."
Ed.: Despite the title, this isn't about open carry, but licensed concealed carry. |

Prior to Biden administration regulations, ghost guns were unregulated and untraceable.
Tiny conversion parts can also be added to create an automatic weapon.
“They would fire up to 1,100 to 1,200 rounds per minute,” Gibes said. “Which is close to 15 to 20 rounds per second.”
Ghost guns became easy to get for people who couldn’t buy a gun legally. That means they were landing in the hands of people who were doing crimes and doing harm.
One of those cases happened at Waterfront Park in 2022. Five teens and a nine-year-old were shot in a burst of gunfire on a Saturday night. |

Participating in the shooting sports is not exactly what anyone could call an inexpensive hobby. Therefore, it’s not all that uncommon for enthusiasts to ask: Now that I own this specific gun for that particular reason, I wonder what else I can do with it? This question isn't reserved just for shotguns and rifles either. It's often applied to handguns as well, especially when people have invested a bit of money into them. |

It’s legal to carry a firearm without a license in New Hampshire, but what rights do residents have when they cross state lines?
A number of Granite Staters are challenging Massachusetts’ authority to enforce licensing requirements for out-of-state residents. While many states recognize other states’ firearms licenses, Massachusetts does not.
The Boston Globe’s Anjali Huynh has been following this story and she joined NHPR’s All Things Considered host Julia Furukawa to talk about her reporting.
