"If you're a gun owner (as are many LewRockwell.com readers), this is the time to stock up on your favorite calibers. You say you've got a dozen metal military surplus ammo boxes full of .38 Special, .45 ACP, .308 and other popular rounds? A few trips to the local range will deplete those supplies. Think in terms of stocking up for the long haul."

"So why spend the money on bullets instead of beans, beer or Buicks? Despite popular perception, there is a real urgency on this issue."

"Both of the name-brand presidential candidates – George W. Bush (Fascist) and John Kerry (Socialist – I'm a stickler for accuracy) – support the recently expired assault weapons ban. When it comes to the Second Amendment, Kerry would be on the left side of the spectrum even in his home state of Massachusetts, which features some of the most draconian gun regulations in the nation."

[I]f I choose to protect myself legally and responsibly, I have to go down, fill out paperwork, give a thumb-print and wait ten days to pickup a fire-arm, then I have to keep the fire-arm securely locked up and disabled, and I have to keep the ammunition in a different room, just to be safe, according to the State of California. But my friendly gangster pals just have to go down and pickup up a weapon from what ever source they have, walk into my house and shoot me and my family at leisure ..." ...

The Londonderry School Board planned a hearing Tuesday on whether a student is allowed to pose with his shotgun for his yearbook picture.

Londonderry High School senior Blake Douglass wants to be shown with a skeet shooting shotgun slung over his shoulder.

His lawyer said the picture is similar to other yearbook photos showing, for example, students with musical instruments or other items demonstrating hobbies. School officials have said a photo with a gun violates their zero-tolerance policies against violence.

"The editorial serves its apparent purpose but lacks balance." ...

"The editorial did not define for readers 'children', 14 of whom have been 'gunned down.' Would it have been proper to exercise a modicum of research to find that they were in fact less than 21 years of age and were gang members who were shot by other gang members?"

"The handgun ban in D.C. is total – cannot possess even in one’s home. If the ban were effective, how could there have been 3,300 seized from criminals in 2003 and 2004, to date?"

"I wonder why Congressman Souder’s position would 'embarrass Democrats' unless they feel they are voting contrary to the wishes of their constituents?"

"15. A ban on some types of assault weapons recently expired. Does the ban's expiration increase the threat of gun violence or deaths, or was it ineffective even when in place? Should there be a ban on certain types of guns or restrictions on gun ownership and possession?"

"I believe the ban on assault weapons was ineffective and should have expired. I favor a dialogue on certain types of guns as well as restrictions. I am a Second Amendment supporter. However, I do not believe guns belong in churches or schools."

The men went into the Bucky's at 72nd and Maple streets around 12:30 a.m. Police said one man holding the rock struck the clerk.

The clerk was treated and released from a hospital. It isn't clear whether the men got away with anything.
