... "There is the famous saying that guns do not kill, but rather, people kill. Gallagher hammers this point home to American Thinker when discussing his chapter on the Second Amendment. He talks about a story he read where someone in New York City was stabbed to death with an ice pick. 'Maybe liberals should be talking about banning ice picks. There is such insanity over the Second Amendment -- for example, Bloomberg's comment about police going on strike until gun laws are put in place. The liberals think that by taking away our Second Amendment rights, we will be protected. The whole essence of the Second Amendment is to empower us to protect ourselves. The Framers of the Constitution said that guns are necessary. ..." ... |

... "You see, I believe that everyone… no matter what their physical condition/limitations deserves the right to own/carry a firearm for personal protection. I will go as far to say that even someone who is legally blind deserves that right. Yes, you read that right… Even a blind guy should be able to carry a gun for personal defense. I think that you could probably make the case that he should not be held to the same legal standard as far as use of force and discharging a firearm, but if somebody is on top of him beating him senseless then I am pretty sure someone who is even blind has the ability to put a snubbie in the bad guy’s belly and hit the target." ... |

"I’ve been drinking the 300 BLK Kool Aid for a while now, and one of the reasons is that even though the factory fresh ammo is scarce I can cook up as much as I want from old 5.56 brass and readily available components. I’ve recently had a number of people ask me for my particular recipe (the combination of components and powder weights that make my load), and I figured it would be a good idea to put that into article form so I can talk a little about why I chose the components I did and how I got to my current load." ... |

"I own a P3AT in .380 ACP, a CZ-82 in 9×18 Makarov, and a bunch of pistols in 9×19 Parabellum (or as the hatez call it, '9mm Europellet')."
"That’s the latest addition, a 9mm Smith and Wesson Shield in the above shot. The P3AT is tiny and easy to hide, but because its small size, it’s a handful to shoot. The Shield is larger easier to shoot, but it’s still not a lot of fun. The CZ82? Much more fun, but because it uses a blowback recoil system and not a locked-breech action like the other two, the recoil still feels a little snappy for it’s size and cartridge power." ... |

"Matt from Down Range Firearm Training recently purchased a second M&P Shield. In the video below, he talks about some of the changes he made to the pistol, including some work done by Lou at Business End Customs. What I found particularly interesting is that Matt now has 5,000 flawless rounds through his first M&P Shield. That’s pretty impressive!" ... |

"Press release from The Sportsmen’s Alliance [via ammoland.com]:"
"There was no denying that PETA opposes hunting. Now the animal rights group also is on record urging people to violate laws —make that hunter harassment laws. In an October 9, 2012 blog posting, PETA urges its minions to: 'Help counter the cruelty of hunting in your area: Post 'No Hunting' signs on your land and that of sympathetic neighbors and friends, join or form a local anti-hunting group, protest organized hunts, and spread deer repellent or human hair (from barber shops) near hunting areas. Also, before supporting any wildlife or conservation group, make sure that it opposes hunting.' . . ." ... |

"Leading up to last night's vice presidential debate, Gun Owners of America asked concerned Americans to urge Representative Paul Ryan (R-WI) to confront Vice President Joe Biden on the Operation Fast and Furious scandal. Although efforts to persuade Governor Mitt Romney to raise the issue have so far not borne fruit, there was some hope that given Ryan's solid, well-established track record of support for gun rights, he would be more inclined to take on that fight." ... |

"Conspicuously absent from last night’s Vice Presidential debate on foreign policy was any mention of neighboring Mexico, leaving unacknowledged border issues, immigration issues, drug issues, and the Fast and Furious 'gunwalking' criminal operation tied to the death of a U.S. Border Patrol agent and unknown (but growing) numbers of human beings both in Mexico, and potentially in the U.S."

"The urgency in Congressman Steve King’s words sent me searching for a 1984 movie I hadn’t seen since, well, 1984 — on VHS."
"If what the Kiron Republican insisted in Orange City the other night is not mere campaign clutter but skin-shivering clairvoyance, we need to be locked and loaded, our eyes trained to the horizon for intruders, our suspicions piqued for the confederates among us, in our schools, our Rotary Clubs, and most especially, within Obama for America county headquarters."
"The reason we have guns isn’t for mere hobby, the hunting of deer, or even to protect ourselves on the streets of Carroll ... We need guns, goes King’s reasoning, so we can collectively function as an ad hoc militia against potential tyrants." ... |

"One of the best things that happened in November 2010 was Second Amendment Patriot leader Jim Tomes being elected to the Indiana State Senate. This would be the equivalent of electing Dr. Richard Klein, a former president of Guns Save Life, as an Illinois state Senator. It was a very good thing for gun owners. This was proven recently at a 'Meet your legislators' meeting last winter." ... |

The state Supreme Court yesterday declined to allow a paralyzed former Los Angeles police officer to sue a gun manufacturer for failure to warn that the gun could be fired while holstered." ...
"Chavez was injured after his 3-year-old son, seated behind him in Chavez’s personal vehicle, picked up the officer’s service revolver[sic], which discharged. Chavez and his counsel argued that Glock, Inc. had a duty to warn that the Glock 21 pistol should only be used with specific holsters that restrict access to the trigger guard ..."

"An early-morning fatal shooting in Pierce County Friday is starting to look suspiciously like a case of 'suicide by cop,' although Sheriff’s spokesman Detective Ed Troyer was reluctant to use the term, according to the Tacoma News Tribune."
"Fifty-year-old Wayne Craddock reportedly got out of his small pickup truck with a gun in hand, even though he had been stopped for what is being described as a minor traffic violation. He reportedly raised the pistol, described as a 'large semiautomatic' and told the deputy, 'This ends here.'" ... |
