Ashortage of ammunition in the U.S. is set to continue following record firearms sales this year. Reasons suggested for the high arms sales figures include uncertainty amid the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the upcoming presidential election and civil unrest seen in recent months across the country. "During President [Donald] Trump's administration, the number of concealed handgun permits has soared to over 19.48 million–a 34 percent increase over 2016," a Crime Prevention Research Center report released earlier this month said.

Even in the best of circumstances, going to court as a defendant is going to take a lot of time and money. Anything you can do to avoid this will save all kinds of hassle. Sometimes, being involved in the criminal-justice system does not have the result that many honest citizens think it will have. Here is a good example of an incident that didn’t go the way an innocent man thought it should have.

The above picture was taken about 25-30 miles from where a black bear was shot by the homeowner in Galena, Nevada, a bit South of Reno. That is an easy day travel distance for a bear. The bear pictured is not the bear that was shot. On June 19, at about 2:30 a.m., a homeowner in Galena, Nevada, just south of Reno, head noises as if someone were attempting to break into his house. He exited the house with an AR15 style rifle chambered in 6.8 SPC.

Another week, another Biden-Harris campaign refusal to level with the American voter on the issue of turning the federal judiciary into a second partisan legislative branch of government. At Wednesday’s vice presidential debate, Vice President Mike Pence asked Democratic vice presidential nominee Sen. Kamala Harris (D-Calif.) if a Biden-Harris administration would attempt to add seats to the U.S. Supreme Court. Just as Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden declined to answer this question during the first presidential debate, Harris did not answer this simple question.

A white door opened across the Oval Office and President Donald J. Trump stopped in the doorway, backlit by windows on a bright summer day. Energetically, he tapped his fists on his thighs as he surveyed the people waiting for him in the white room with the golden drapes and the pantheon of paintings of American history’s iconic leaders like Abraham Lincoln and Benjamin Franklin. The state of the Second Amendment is a barometer for the strength that individual Americans have in relation to their government. Civilian disarmament will weaken millions of Americans — culturally, economically and politically — so why do so many wish to gut the Second Amendment against their best interests?

 QUOTES TO REMEMBER
Laws that forbid the carrying of arms disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes. Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man. — Thomas Jefferson, quoting Cesare Beccaria in On Crimes and punishment (1764).
