"In 1991, after George Hennard shot 22 people to death at a Luby's cafeteria in Killeen, Texas, Sarah Brady said the mass murder showed the need for a federal ban on 'assault weapons.' Mrs. Brady, the head of Handgun Control Inc., wrote an op-ed piece in which she asked, 'Is it going to take a massacre in every congressional district for enough members to find the backbone to put public safety ahead of the profits of the assault weapon lobby?' "

"It was an odd connection to make, since the pistols Hennard had used, a Glock 17 and a Ruger P89, were not covered by the legislation Mrs. Brady was demanding. A decade later, she and her organization, now called the Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence, are still trying to pass off non sequiturs as common sense." ...

It seems there is a problem with this bill because it requires the police to also carry "smart guns". If the "smart gun" technology is supposed to be so good for the general populace, then how come the policymakers don't want to pass a bill which forces police to use it as well?!!

One of the many battlefronts for this issue is advertising rights for medical drugs and devices. Pharmaceutical advertising rights are tightly controlled and recently some in the medical community have begun to ask the question "Do these controls violate the First Amendment?" One regulation that most definitely violates the First Amendment is the off-label drug use regulation. Off-label drug use is all uses for a drug not approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

A 2-1 majority of a panel of the US 5th Circuit Court of Appeals held an NRA sticker on a vehicle did not give police probable cause to search it for a firearm. The dissenting judge, with typical liberal convolution, said the majority made the NRA sticker a "free pass" exempting the driver from a lawful search. The majority position saves drivers from paying a harrassment price for exercising their freedoms of expression and association and keeping/bearing of arms.

... "If we're going to get specific about gun violence, let's ask which Americans kill people. After all, we are an extremely diverse nation, far more diverse than 'quiescent' Canada, say, which still is 95 percent composed of 'the same European stock that founded America.' "

"According to the FBI's Uniform Crime Reports — online at www.fbi.gov/ucr/ucr.htm — the homicide rate among Americans of 'European stock' is virtually identical to the rate in European nations. Correspondingly, the homicide rate among American blacks is close to the rates in black nations — that is, five to eight times the European American rate. The rate of all violent crime among American Hispanics is three times the European American rate. Average the three rates, and America stands out like a bloody thumb among the other 'Western countries.' "

"Mr. Moore is tired of the 'whole culture of violence.' So are most Americans. We're also tired of being falsely blamed for it. Diversity has obliterated the very concept of the 'average American,' so from now on, one should specify exactly whom one is referring to when speaking of 'Americans' killing people."

Here's a story about how an innocent man was forced by his own shotgun to barricade himself in his home. The evil firearm then forced the innocent victim to point the business end of the gun at his person and pull the trigger.

The unsuspecting citizen died a violent death, and firearms manufacturers should be sued because of it. Police had to use force to gain entry through the front door -- "because Smith apparently had blocked it with the couch."

Anyone who denies the fact that the shotgun made this man end his precious life is an anti-government extremist.
