Only 34 percent of likely voters believe the United States is headed in the right direction, according to a new Rasmussen survey, and 56 percent say they don’t find the media delivers accurate news.
Rasmussen keeps weekly track of how voters feel regarding the direction of the country. This week’s report is up one point from last week, but it is up by three points from a year ago, when 31 percent of poll respondents thought the country was on the right track. Sixty-one percent of likely voters polled recently said the nation is headed in the wrong direction. |

A Longs homeowner who shot and killed an intruder this week will not face any charges because he acted in self defense, the area's top prosecutor said. The shooting happened around 7:40 p.m. Oct. 21 when 34-year-old Ryan Surujnauth entered at a home on Monaca Drive in Longs, according to a news release from the Horry County Coroner's Office. The homeowner shot him multiple times. Surujnauth, who lived in North Myrtle Beach, died Oct. 22 at Grand Strand Medical Center. |

Closing arguments in the case Barnett v. Raoul were filed in the Southern District of Illinois federal court of Judge Stephen McGlynn by late Monday. McGlynn gave litigants that deadline at the conclusion of last month’s four-day bench trial in the case. |

A federal judge in New York has issued a permanent injunction against the Cortland Housing Authority (CHA) prohibiting any sort of firearms ban against CHA tenants, in a victory for the Second Amendment Foundation (SAF) and its fellow plaintiffs. SAF was joined in this action by three private citizens, Robert Hunter, Elmer Irwin, and Doug Merrin. They are represented by attorneys Edward Andrew Paltzik, Serge Krimnus, and Meredith Lloyd at Bochner PLLC in New York City. U.S. District Judge Glenn T. Suddaby, with the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of New York, signed the order. |

While browsing the Certified Used firearms for sale on Guns.com, I found a strange-looking tactical shotgun labeled “Beretta 1301,” but something did not look quite right. Following news that a reporter was wounded while watching Missouri Democrat Senate candidate Lucas Kunce shoot an AR-15, Sen. Josh Hawley (R) tweeted, “My grandma is a better shot than Lucas Kunce.”
Breitbart News reported that the wounded reporter, KSHB-TV’s Ryan Gamboa, stood in place after being wounded while Kunce bandaged him up.
