"... let's look at the question of arming teachers versus arming students versus arming staff or security. Let's look at it as how best to work for the safety of our adult and minor children at school as well as that of Teachers."

"Arming adult students is the most effective for several reasons. This, of course, includes armed employees, armed parents and other visitors who have a right to be on campus."

"1. Gun owners know that — as citizens — they have all legal authority to use up to lethal force when in the reasonable apprehension of grave danger – wherever it finds them. These citizens assert that administrations have no legal authority to interfere with this as gun bans do – admissions agreement or not. ..." ...

"The Albany Police Officers Union wants to keep secret the names of any officers who illicitly purchased machine guns through the department years ago."
"Naturally. And we'd expect them to fight just as hard for the principle that non-'Only Ones' deserve the same privacy considerations when they intentionally violate gun edicts, right?"

"Seriously, how come these elites aren't being prosecuted?"

"The U.S. attorney's office declined to take action on the Albany gun purchases. Federal prosecutors in Albany were briefed about the matter four years ago by the ATF, sources in the investigation said."

FULL TEXT BELOW:

Police say a Putnam County homeowner shot and killed a man who he thought was trying to break into his home while his family slept.

State police charged Peter Guerriero, of Putnam Lake, with manslaughter Monday in the death of 32-year-old David Schachnow, of Southeast.

They say the 42-year-old Guerriero shot Schachnow in front of his house early that morning on a walkway that leads up to the front door and a deck. Schachnow was pronounced dead at 3:58 a.m. at a local hospital.

State Police Capt. Keith Corlett says that it does not appear that Guerriero intentionally caused Schachnow's death, "but recklessly did it."

Guerriero's attorney refused to comment on the charges.

Police opened a murder case after a 77-year-old man allegedly killed an intruder in his Vredehoek home early this morning.

Police said they were investigating the incident.

ER 24 spokesperson Derrick Banks said a man in his late 20s had allegedly broken into a home in Vredehoek at about 6am.

"He apparently hit the 77-year-old occupant of the house over the head with a plank," said Banks.

The elderly man retaliated and a shot was fired.

Banks said when paramedics arrived on the scene they found the intruder dead on the doorstep.

When the Cape Argus visited the house, the man was clearing glass from his lounge. On spotting the media, he came to the gate and said he did not want to talk about the incident.

As part of the protest, students all over the country are wearing empty holsters this week, the O'Collegian reports. 'It is a chance to draw attention to our cause,' said one Oklahoma State University protester."

In California, the percentage of unsolved homicides is even higher, but a groundbreaking measure signed into law earlier this month by the state’s Republican governor, Arnold Schwarzenegger, offers a realistic hope for bringing more murderers, gang members and other armed criminals to justice."

This "liberty" is not a series of isolated points pricked out in terms of the taking of property; the freedom of speech, press, and religion; the right to keep and bear arms; the freedom from unreasonable searches and seizures; and so on. FULL TEXT BELOW:

We have new details about a Taser incident that has two Jefferson County sheriffs deputies in trouble.

One of those deputies apparently shot a judge's clerk with his Taser at the Hall of Justice, according to Deputy Circuit Court Clerk Larry Bond.

Bond says the judge's clerk was startled but didn't require medical attention after he was hit with the Taser Friday.

Bond believes a deputy sheriff was changing the cartridge in his Taser gun when it accidentally went off.

A spokesman for the sheriff's office will only say that they're investigating an unauthorized use of a Taser.

Two deputies have been suspended with pay while the investigation is underway.
