The horizon hemorrhaged rainbows as birds lifted from watery havens and suddenly appeared like flapping dragons painted across a fuchsia dawn. First came the teal, flighty and reckless, then lumbering black swans, spanning across the horizon in twos and threes with necks outstretched like unfurled elephant trunks—their six-foot wingspans flogging the air rhythmically in search of morning grub. |

One of the endemic notions of gun control advocates that flare up after any violence that grabs the headlines is the proposal that all guns must be registered to their owners. The idea is that if the government knows which guns are in the hands of what law-abiding Americans, the flow of weaponry to criminals would be stanched.

Colorado's debate over guns — forged over years of mass shootings and rekindled after the Oct. 1 massacre in Las Vegas — is set to play out during next year's race for governor. That's particularly true among activists on both sides of the debate who during the primaries are poised to magnify even the smallest differences among Democratic and Republican candidates. Taking center stage in this tug of war: a relitigation of the state's 2013 gun laws whose passage followed similar attacks in Aurora and Newtown, Conn. |

New crime statistics from the United Kingdom showing that crime has climbed 10 percent across England with gun-related crime climbing a startling 23 percent could poke a serious hole in arguments from liberal gun prohibitionists that the United States should follow England’s example on gun control.
According to The Guardian, the spike in crime is “the largest annual rise for a decade.” Data backing this claim comes from the Office of National Statistics, the publication said. Here’s what U.S. gun rights activists might find interesting... |

The violence that besieged a Las Vegas concert earlier this month is almost incomprehensible. Almost 60 died, and hundreds more were injured, as a deranged gunman rained bullets down on them from 32 stories up and 400 yards away. Following an incident such as this, there are always two questions we must ask. First, how could we have stopped this specific tragedy from happening? And second, how can we address the broader problem of American gun violence in a way that will be both effective and consistent with the Second Amendment? |

A measure that would allow people with concealed-weapons licenses to store firearms with security officers at courthouses was filed Monday in the state House for the 2018 Legislative Session. The proposal (HB 383) by Rep. Cord Byrd, a Neptune Beach Republican, is identical to a measure (SB 134) filed in August by Senate Judiciary Chairman Greg Steube, a Sarasota Republican. |

Democratic attorneys general from 17 states are calling on Congress to abandon legislation backed by the National Rifle Association that would allow concealed-carry gun permits issued in one state to be valid in all states. The top prosecutors from states including New York, Pennsylvania, Iowa and California sent a letter to congressional leaders in both parties on Sunday warning that federal reciprocity proposals being debated on Capitol Hill “will lead to the death of police officers and civilians, the proliferation of gun traffickers, and acts of terrorism and other mass violence.”

Thanks to last week’s mass shooting at a suburban Baltimore, MD, business, a state lawmaker from the community where the tragedy happened, instead of wanting more gun control, wants something else – the return of the death penalty to the state.
WJZ-TV is reporting today that Republican state Senator Robert Cassilly, who represents the Harford County area where last Wednesday’s massacre took place, is proposing to reinstate the death sentence in the state as a punishment for certain crimes – such as murders of multiple victims, killing of law enforcement, serial killings, murders as part of a hate crime or during the course of a sexual offense such as rape. |

Liberalism has warped the minds of its adherents to the point that defending yourself against assault is considered murder. Gun owners lawfully armed and defending the lives of themselves or others is murder? Yup, that’s right. In this latest example of the folly of gun grabbers, a new campaign against National Rifle Association and NRA Carry Guard is getting the “puff treatment” in the Chicago Tribune. |

The Kimber K6s revolver is available in eight different models, all in .357 Mag. The model shown above is the company's K6s Stainless variant. Sometimes life forces us to find compromise. Those of us who choose to carry a firearm for self-defense sometimes stumble over the three words “concealed-carry weapon.” It seems simple enough. “Concealed” implies a small gun that can be easily hidden on your person. “Carry” suggests it should be lightweight so it can be comfortably carried for an extended period of time. |
