Today, the first jury trial resulted in a guilty verdict for Reginald Dewayne Dixon, 35, of Tuscaloosa. Dixon was found guilty of being a convicted felon in possession of a Smith and Wesson .38 caliber revolver. A sentencing hearing will be set by the Court in the near future." ...

The number of injuries caused by guns rose by more than a quarter last year.
And airguns accounted for more than half of these injuries, figures showed.
Justice Secretary Kenny MacAskill said the figures underlined the need for new laws to tackle the "cancer" of gun crime.
