This isn't gun-related, but "the right of the people to keep and bear arms" includes blades, too. ... ------- A Minneapolis woman acted in self-defense when she fatally stabbed her boyfriend as he attacked her with a wooden closet rod, the Hennepin County attorney's office said Thursday.
Monica R. Magnan, 49, will not be charged with a crime, prosecutors said.
"She called for help right away, she was very upset and she said that she had been choked and beaten," said Pete Cahill, a deputy county attorney. "Her injuries and details of the story matched the scene." ... |

"The suspect is believed to be responsible for attacks since December in areas covered by the Los Angeles Police Department's Devonshire, Foothill and Van Nuys divisions, said Det. Jesse Alvarado. The man's identity is being withheld as police investigate his ties to the other crimes."
"In the abduction on Oct. 18, a man in a white Honda Accord approached a 14-year-old Monroe High student walking in the 9000 block of Willis Avenue. The girl was on her way to the North Hills school and the man offered her a ride."
"When the girl refused, the man drove farther up the block. After parking his car, he again approached the girl, simulated pointing a gun at her and forced her into the car. He then drove to an alley about two blocks away where he assaulted her, police said."
"The attack was the latest in a string of assaults allegedly carried out by the suspect involving victims who range in age from 14 to 26, Alvarado said. Five of the victims were under 18, he said." ... |

The Seattle media have claimed that current gun control laws were inadequate to stop John Muhammad from buying his Bushmaster at a retail gun shop on May 23, 2000. But if you read this story carefully you see that it was the state's court system that failed.
Muhammad purchased the gun because the state failed to notify NICS that he was subject to a restraining order. Today, WA state senator Jeanne Kohl-Wells announced a new bill for "fingerprinting" all guns in the state. |
