In a few days, the most important election of our lives will take place. My message to every freedom-loving American is simple and straightforward. If we do not do everything in our power to defeat Hillary Clinton, our liberties are in peril.
Clinton has made it perfectly clear that she will use every opportunity to eliminate our Second Amendment-protected rights. |

Gun Guys, 412 S. Main St., Ottawa, has been through two presidential elections in its 10 years of business.
This year might not be any different, Tim Van Leiden, the shop’s owner, said.
“I think the fear is that if Hillary [Clinton] is elected, she’ll start attacking the Second Amendment,” Van Leiden said. “They’re going to be worried that their guns rights will go away. Although, she can’t do that. Obviously, if the Supreme Court judges decide the Second Amendment is unconstitutional, then, yeah, that could present problems. But that’s not going to be a quick thing to happen by any means. People will panic anyway.” |

For our 20th wedding anniversary Yvonne presented me with a beautiful Damascus Bowie knife handmade by our friend Steve Brooks. What did I get her? Nothing! She caught me flatfooted because never before had we exchanged gifts for our wedding anniversaries. And neither did I plan to get her anything for our 38th one in 2016. Besides I was away at a gun show.
Fate intervened. At that gun show in Kalispell, Montana, a young fellow named Andy Larsson, owner of Skinner Sights visited me. He asked, “Do you have a moment to look at something?” Certainly, but little did I expect to buy it. And even less did I figure something called a Bush Pilot Kit to be Yvonne’s long awaited anniversary present. |

On this night, the space is being used to talk about guns. Not the familiar anti-violence, gun buyback gospel you’re apt to hear from many of the same social do-gooders moving about just outside these doors. No, tonight the organizer of this presentation is preaching the need for African-Americans to arm and defend themselves—from both criminals and police.
This is Black Guns Matter, a young, provocative movement whose founder is quickly emerging as a powerful—if not confounding—voice on behalf of the Second Amendment. His organization’s stated goal is to encourage responsible gun ownership among African-Americans. In pushing that message, he’s stepped deeply into the mire of guns and race. |

In a striking new turn in the debate about disclosing the identities of the 11,000 people in Putnam who hold pistol permits, a lawsuit filed in U.S. District Court asks that Putnam County be compelled to keep the names and addresses private.
If successful, the lawsuit would short-circuit the efforts of the out-of-county newspaper, the Journal News, to obtain the names and addresses and potentially disclose them, as the newspaper did in December 2012 when it published an interactive, online map of pistol permit holders in neighboring Westchester and Rockland counties. |

Once on stage, Johnson rolled through some of his key talking points. His statement supporting smaller government, the Second Amendment, and legalized marijuana all received hearty applause from the audience.
“I do support the Second Amendment, but I support all the amendments of the Constitution,” Johnson said. “And the Constitution limits the power of government." |

Texas is one of six states that generally prohibits guns in polling places. According to the state law, firearms are not allowed within 100 feet of a polling place or voting station on the day of election or while early voting is in progress.
“I don't see any reason why Texans shouldn't be able to carry their guns into polling places,” Robert Farago, founder of the Truth About Guns said. “Obviously, you can't use your firearm to intimidate somebody, but the firearm in and of itself is not an intimidation. It is an expression of our natural right to keep and bear arms.” |

The ordinance does three things. First, it sets new requirements for reporting lost or stolen guns, requiring the owner of a lost or stolen firearm to report it an NOPD officer within 48 hours. A first offense will carry a one-time $250 fine, and subsequent offenses will carry a $500 fine.
Second, it makes all New Orleans Recreation Development Commission – NORDC – facilities firearm-free zones, and violators carry a punishable offense of a $500 fine or six months’ imprisonment. This ordinance extends the firearm-free zone to all 104 NORDC facilities throughout the city.
Third, it criminalizes the negligent carrying of a concealed firearm, also punishable by a $500 fine or six months’ imprisonment. |

A man who was killed this week inside the home of San Francisco filmmaker Kevin Epps was shot in “self-defense” after he intruded in the home and made “serious threats,” Epps and his attorney said Wednesday.
Epps, 48, who lives on the 100 block of Addison Street in Glen Park, was arrested on suspicion of murder after Monday’s shooting. But the district attorney’s office decided Tuesday not to file charges, at least for the time being, suggesting that evidence of self-defense was a consideration. |

Authorities say that Negrete approached a group of teens at a parking lot of Domino’s Pizza North and attempted to rob them. During the incident, Negrete pulled out a large hunting knife and stabbed a teen, who was injured in the neck.
The stabbing victim then stabbed Negrete using the same knife. Negrete died from the injury.
County Attorney Mark Ostrem says the teen’s use of deadly force was reasonable and necessary – and that the state couldn’t prove beyond a reasonable doubt that the teen didn’t act in self-defense. |

“The fight by the abolitionists, post-slavery, for blacks to be able to be armed — do you know that gun control, early gun control, was really about keeping guns out of the hands of black people? We as black people have been so separated from our history it’s astounding to me. We should be some of the most ardent supporters of the Second Amendment because our history was not being able to possess arms to be able to defend ourselves from mobs, kidnappings and lynchings,” he said during a Heritage Foundation event, “The Right to Arms and the War on Guns.” |

The suspect then pulled out a note demanding money. The manager reported “Once everybody leaves this guy comes up to the counter. He passes the note. It’s in really bad handwriting so I can’t make it out. I ask him ‘what does it say?’ and he says “give me whatever you got to get the register before anybody gets hurt.” (Grammar original)
The manager continued “So I said OK, show me something. He says ‘no, you don’t want to get hurt.’ So I got to the side. I pull my weapon out. As he sees my gun he tried to leave the store, at that point I realize he does not have anything and he is bluffing.” |

An October 26 The Oklahoman editorial warns readers that Hillary Clinton has the Second Amendment in her “cross hairs,” and she is going after it if elected to the White House.
The editorial begins: “If there were any doubts as to what Hillary Clinton would like to see the Second Amendment to the U.S. Constitution look like eventually, they were clarified during the final presidential debate. It’s not pretty.” It then continues by pointing to statements Clinton made while opposite Donald Trump during the October 19 debate. |

The latest episode of Hawaii Five-0, “Ke Ku ‘Ana,” is full of embarrassing falsehoods and other anti-gun propaganda.
Kyle Kane is a deranged father who blames gun culture for the mass shooting perpetrated by his son, so he holds a room full of hostages at gunpoint to send a message. Left unstated: Kyle’s son obtained his firearm through a straw purchase, a process that is already illegal and carries a sentence of up to ten years in prison and a $250,000 fine for the purchase alone even if the illegally purchased firearm were never used in another crime.

Throughout her presidential campaign, Hillary Clinton has said that she supports the second amendment rights of law-abiding gun owners.
But many gun rights advocates say they fear she will reopen the door for cities and states to ban private ownership of handguns, pointing to her repeated comments questioning a key US supreme court decision on gun ownership. Even liberal second amendment experts have called some of Clinton’s explanations of her position “odd”.
As one law professor who supports gun rights put it, Clinton on guns is like a Republican politician who claims she supports abortion rights, even as she opposes Roe v Wade. |

At the Democratic presidential debate on Oct. 13, 2015, Hillary Clinton and her rival candidates were asked, “Which enemy are you most proud of?” In response, Clinton named the NRA.
The answer was as revealing as it was revolting. Here was a person seeking to lead all Americans as their president, declaring that 5 million of her fellow citizens are “enemies”—merely because they believe in their right to self-defense, a natural right that is guaranteed by the Constitution.

Guns and Ammo magazine has again named Arizona the best state in the U.S. for owning a gun.
The ranking, based on five main measurements, solidifies the fact that a strong gun culture exists in the Grand Canyon state, one that has continued to embrace a more pro-gun stance than even other states part of the former Wild West.
The worst state to own a gun is New York, with Washington, D.C. placing behind it at 51st. |
